3 Things that are Much More Scary than a Confidential HIV Test

 By: Tim Leach
A confidential HIV test might seem like one of the scariest things you can imagine. But smile, grit your teeth and go right ahead as there are many things in life that are much more scary. We look at just 3 of the things that are much scarier than a confidential HIV test.

The First Date

So you've picked out and ironed your outfit, you've washed and brushed your hair, you've even trimmed your toenails and brushed your teeth. You're groomed to perfection and looking great. But unfortunately the calm and collected exterior does not reflect the butterflies flying around your stomach at the speed of light. The first date is always scary, and your head will be full of questions such as 'have I picked a nice place to eat?', and 'will there be a spark?', or even 'what if I run out of things to say?' On a first date, we always feel an enormous pressure to impress, and that is what makes it so much more of an ordeal than a simple confidential HIV test.

Meeting the Parents

So, you've been in your new relationship for a while when your partner asks you the dreaded question - "will you come and meet my parents?" It's a question you've been steeling yourself for since the word go, and dreading more and more with each story you've heard about their Mum's strict house rules and their Dad's passion for guns and hunting. And that's just the parents - there's also a strong chance that the three older siblings will also be in attendance. Unfortunately, there's no way to get out of these sorts of invites and you can almost guarantee that the weekend is going to see you not only in your Sunday best, but also on your best behaviour as you sit down to roast dinner with the potential in-laws. Trust me, this is one thing that is definitely scarier than a confidential HIV test.

Saying "I Love You"

They are only three very little words, but we all know that they can be built into something simply enormous. Saying "I love you" is scarier than the first date, scarier than meeting the parents, and probably even scarier than the wedding day itself will be in the future. Not only do you have to wait until it's the right time to say it, but you have to make sure it comes out right. And even more worrying, you have to be relatively sure that your partner is going to say it back to you. Nobody wants to be left hanging or to feel rejected, which is why saying "I love you" is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences you're ever likely to face. So if you're a bit nervous about going for a confidential HIV test, just think how much scarier it would be to have to say "I love you" to your partner for the first time. You'll soon feel your nerves fade away.

So, if you're starting to get nervous about your confidential HIV test, step back, take stock of the situation and think of all the things that are ten times more scary.

By reading more about immune system facts, there'll be a better understanding of how the immune system works. It can also open our eyes to one of the most dreaded diseases in the world which can destroy it, HIV. The immune system is our body's warrior against harmful substances. It is more efficient than the strongest armies in the world and it is one of the life-giving systems in our body. When it malfunctions, it can lead to imminent death. For this reason, HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) - the onset of AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome) has become one of the most serious issues that increased the mortality rate of the world's population today.
We've all heard the saying 'Ignorance is bliss', but when it comes to our health, nothing could be further from the truth. If we don't know that there is a problem, then we can't fix it, and if we don't fix it, most times it will simply get worse and cause us even greater pain and suffering. When it comes to Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), it is not just ourselves who suffer as a result of ignorance or lack of action, but those that we come into intimate contact with too, and that is why taking a confidential HIV test is vitally important if there is even the smallest chance that you might have been exposed to any risk.
For those who can remember back to the early 1980s and the start of the AIDS epidemic, there was something vaguely surreal about seeing the warnings on our television screens and the reports put out by the media. Was this all just hype, we were left wondering? Could this new disease really be that bad? Should we all be rushing off for a confidential HIV test? Since then, of course, the grim reality of the destructive forces of HIV and AIDS has hit home, with millions dying. Today, many more are living with the HIV virus thanks to vastly improved treatments.

I did a Google search and came across your site. It was exactly what I was looking for and was elated to find such a broad range of articles. As I am launching a free magazine in a small town in Florida, I wanted to be as resourceful as possible while still being able to provide some content that is interesting and well written. Your site has all the variables in the mix. Excellent Site hitting all the notes in the scale sort of speak.
