Acne is a common skin disease that causes pimples. Anyone can get acne, but it is common in teenagers and young adults. It is not serious, but it can cause scars. The exect causes of acne are not known. Hormone changes, such as those during the teenage years and pregnancy, probably play a role. Stress doesn't cause acne, but stress can make it worse. Acne is a skin condition that shows up as different types of bumps. They include whiteheads, blackheads, red bumps (pimples), and bumps that are filled with pus (cysts). A lot of kids and teens get a type of acne called acne vulgaris. It usually appears on the face, neck, shoulders, upper back, and chest. Acne can be disfiguring and upsetting to the patient. Untreated acne can leave permanent scars; these may be treated by your dermatologist in the future. To avoid acne scarring, treating acne is important. Adult women may be treated at the period and at ovulation when acne is especially severe, or throughout the entire cycle.

Acne affects people of all skin colours. When you use a product for acne, be sure to follow the directions exactly. Don't use more than you're supposed to because it can make your skin very red and very dry. Acne medicine can take weeks or months to work. Acne surgery may be used by your dermatologist to remove blackheads and whiteheads. The processes that cause acne are exactly the same in people with black or brown skin but the impact is altered by the skin pigmentation. If a pore gets clogged up, closes, and bulges out from the skin, that's a whitehead. Sometimes the walls of the pore are broken, allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to get under the skin. This causes a small, red infection called a pimple. Luckily, for most people, acne gets better by the time they are in their twenties. Injections of corticosteroids may be used for treating large red bumps (nodules).

Prevention of Acne

To keep skin conditions under control, observe the following suggestions:

• Try to avoid chocolates, nuts, fried and fatty foods.

• Reduce the oiliness of the skin.

• Vitamin E is also important to prevent scarring from acne and removing old scars.

• Have a well-balanced, regular diet with lots of fresh fruit juices.

• Do not squeeze pimples, which often leads to infections, worse acne, and scars.

Home Remedies for Acne

• Take morpheme neem supplements for natural skin care.

• Unboiled milk mixed with gram flour has been proved effective for the daily wash of acne skin.

• Drink a glass of wheat grass juice daily to remove acne.

• Apply fresh lime juice mixed with a half glass of boiled milk for treating pimples, blackheads and cracked skin.

• The orange peel is valuable in the treatment of acne.

• Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, and other skin infections.

• Aloe Vera juice applied twice a day can greatly speed up the healing of acne lesions.

• Ice down the acne before bed.

• Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective acne cure.
