Aging Skin is Induced by the Deterioration of Essential Skin Structures

When we hit our twenties, the essential skin structures that compose healthy skin begin to deteriorate and signs of aging begin to show. What provokes healthy skin structures to decrease, and how does our innate system react?

Moisture levels in the skin tend to drop due to a decline in our hormone levels. The moisture barrier which is composed of keratin-packed keratinocytes (skin cells) begins to decrease which leads to skin dryness. A number of additional factors can contribute to the reduction of essential lipids which otherwise support lubrication to the skin. It is also known that an improper 'skin care', with products that are not compatible with your skin, harsh weather conditions and UV radiation also cause skin dryness.

When aging, our skin loses the ability to keep the accurate function of skin cell renewal which is what gives us the smooth and radiant look. This decline makes the cells 'stickier' and does not shed as rapidly. Therefore the skin becomes weaker and more vulnerable to environmental damage, especially photo-damage, consequentially making the skin rough in texture and dull-looking.

Fine lines, Wrinkles and Age Spots are ALL Signs of Natural Aging

UV rays, mechanical stress, skin renewal decrease, and environmental factors are all contributors to collagen reduction.

The most common signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles, are caused by a drop in collagen proteins. With age, messenger molecules that trigger collagen proliferation diminish. This decline produces the increase of collagenase which breaks down collagen. Free radicals and UV radiation are also factors that break down collagen proteins. This clearly leads to weaker skin tissues which is why these wrinkles appear.

Melanin is the skin's biological barrier against UV radiation and photo-damage. As we age, melanin activity decreases, which makes our skin susceptible to UV damage. These cells also cluster together and visible signs can be identified in patches of pigmentation also called age spots.

Another evidence of aging is the loss of firmness. Elasticity is provided by the essential protein; Elastin. As we get older (and wiser), our innate system produce more of the DHT hormone which prevents elastin production. Sagging skin, especially around the eyes, neck and jaw-line are consequences of loss of elastin proteins.

In conclusion, the signs of aging can be caused by a number of internal and external factors. Some of the most common signs are fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, skin dryness, and loss of firmness. A proper skin care solution that prevents the biological structures of the skin from decreasing and encourages overall skin rejuvenation is what is essential.

Paraben free facial moisturizers and paraben free hand cream is the future of the skin care industry. At least that will be the case with responsible manufacturers. You are probably thinking: ”What makes the difference whether my skin care products are paraben free?” (See my article: "The Dangers of Parabens - Do You Know What They Are?")
The dangers of parabens are just beginning to surface. Weight gain, skin aging and certain types of cancer are suspected to be caused in part by parabens. It is a fact that up to 60 percent of whatever we place on our skin goes into our blood stream. This is where the danger starts.
Neck firming cream? Why? Because a neck firming cream does what a good moisturizer was not designed to do. Let me explain... Moisturizers are great for your face, however products for the skin on your neck are formulated a little different. They are specially formulated to reduce aging skin changes on your neck area.
What is paraben free face care? Why is paraben free lotions and creams important? Or why should I care? When we are done with this article you will have the answer to all of those questions.
A firming body wash and a natural body firming cream that work took some searching. I found three popular brands that you need to know about BEFORE you buy.
What is the best firming over the counter night cream? Where can you find firming cream that really works? Well, you won’t find it in a drug or department store. You won’t find it behind a cosmetic counter. You could probably make your own, if you had the time, but it’s easier to buy it.
How do you find the best collagen firming lotions? What are the most effective and safest ingredients? That’s what you really need to know. I recently looked at the ingredients in several popular products. Here are the results.
