When it comes to getting along with other cats and dogs, Bengal cats usually are very friendly. When placing kittens together with older cats, they soon get used to each other. Not to speak about placing the kittens with dogs! These little ones immediately get in charge of business!

Should a cat owner wish to get a new kitten into the house, the first thing he or she must do is keeping it in one room for a few days to gain confidence and get used to its new parents. The kitten must first get used to all the new smells, without any other animals. Give the new kitten the old blanket the other cat used to sleep on, in order to transfer a familiar smell onto the kitten which your cat will recognize. Only then can you let the two of them meet and see what happens when leaving them alone in a room. If necessary, put the cats in separate rooms for a few nights. Soon, the cat will no longer see the kitten as a threat, but it will realize that it could even be fun start to enjoy each others company.

The two cats must never see any difference in the way you treat them, so never give more attention to the new kitten than to the other cat.
Always involve both in the activities you start: feed them both at the same time, make them both chase a ping pong ball and so on.

But most importantly, before bringing in a new kitten in the house, be sure that any existing cat in your home is vaccinated and healthy.

To speak about Bengal cats' characteristics, one must know that they do not grow over 14 lbs, that is for males. Females are even smaller. They are very active cats, that will want to follow you whatever you may do in the household.

Around the age of 4 weeks Bengal kittens develop guard hairs that make them look real funny and spotted. These hairs make them look "fuzzy" for about 6 weeks.

Should the kitten cry at night, put one of your old jumpers unwashed into their bed. You could also leave the radio or TV on for 3 or 4 days until they settle down.

And because you want your kitten to be healthy and happy, insuring it is very important. Choose the insurance very carefully, as it must cover any illness your cat can get.

Cats are very good pets as they don't require as much attention as other options such as a dog. America's most popular pet, the cat, lives more than half of its life in the senior years. Although advances in veterinary care, better nutrition and better educated owners have helped improve the quantity and quality of these years, studies reveal that senior cats continue to struggle with weight as the result of reduced activity levels and a steady decline in senses, nutrient absorption and fat digestion.
Cats love to be outside. Spend a few minutes watching them stretch out in the sun and there's no denying that. But if you live in the city where your cats might run out in the street or get lost, letting them go outside can be a problem. Even if you live in a rural area, there can be other larger animals that might hurt your cats. You might think that you have no choice but to keep them inside all the time, but there is another solution.
