When it comes to getting along with other cats and dogs, Bengal cats usually are very friendly. When placing kittens together with older cats, they soon get used to each other. Not to speak about placing the kittens with dogs! These little ones immediately get in charge of business!

Should a cat owner wish to get a new kitten into the house, the first thing he or she must do is keeping it in one room for a few days to gain confidence and get used to its new parents. The kitten must first get used to all the new smells, without any other animals. Give the new kitten the old blanket the other cat used to sleep on, in order to transfer a familiar smell onto the kitten which your cat will recognize. Only then can you let the two of them meet and see what happens when leaving them alone in a room. If necessary, put the cats in separate rooms for a few nights. Soon, the cat will no longer see the kitten as a threat, but it will realize that it could even be fun start to enjoy each others company.

The two cats must never see any difference in the way you treat them, so never give more attention to the new kitten than to the other cat.
Always involve both in the activities you start: feed them both at the same time, make them both chase a ping pong ball and so on.

But most importantly, before bringing in a new kitten in the house, be sure that any existing cat in your home is vaccinated and healthy.

To speak about Bengal cats' characteristics, one must know that they do not grow over 14 lbs, that is for males. Females are even smaller. They are very active cats, that will want to follow you whatever you may do in the household.

Around the age of 4 weeks Bengal kittens develop guard hairs that make them look real funny and spotted. These hairs make them look "fuzzy" for about 6 weeks.

Should the kitten cry at night, put one of your old jumpers unwashed into their bed. You could also leave the radio or TV on for 3 or 4 days until they settle down.

And because you want your kitten to be healthy and happy, insuring it is very important. Choose the insurance very carefully, as it must cover any illness your cat can get.

This is a national dilemma, but every day hundreds of cats are killed on our nation's roads. Fact! So how do we prevent our beloved pet cats from becoming another road traffic statistic? A few years ago we moved into a quiet suburban area which backed onto a relatively busy road, but when our daughter begged us for a kitten it was too difficult to deny her. Her first kitten brought her much happiness until one night a few months later she didn't come home, the next day we found her kitten her lying squashed by the road only a 100 yards away from home. Once we had all recovered from these sad times I promised her another cat as long as I could cat-proof our garden.
Cat owners know for a fact that the smell of urine from their pets can be really irritating and can even make some people unhealthy. Removing cat urine smell, therefore, is an important task, which may not be as easy as a breeze, but, is something that can be done. How? Here are some ways of eliminating pet odor that you can try in order to bring about effective pet smell removal...
At first, there was dirt. Cats meandered freely, scratching a "cat hole" wherever they pleased, then overlaying their business to elude discovery by predators. The really favored cats roamed near a house with children, where there was often a sandbox for the kids to play in. This sand was the high end dirt of the early days -- dirt that was simple to dig in, quick to scratch over, and relatively easy to shake from the paws.
When we feel pain, we can tell someone that something is wrong and that he or she would be able to take you to the hospital. Pets cannot, but watching how they act can tell a lot. That is why it is important to be aware of a cats actions and attitude. Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is the disease most feared, and in fact, is the leading cause of death in cats. It is caused by a coronavirus infection and the worst is that the symptoms are very common with other ailments, so it's really hard to tell.
Whilst some of the causes of feline urination problems are medical, others are behavioural. In either case, reputable pet insurance should offer you financial protection from the costs of treatment. If your cat has started urinating around the house, the first thing to do is to take them to the vet as they may have a urinary tract infection. If this is the problem then your vet will probably prescribe a course of antibiotics. However, if your vet gives your cat the all clear then you'll need to consider other possible reasons for your cat's reluctance to use its litter tray.
