Are Email Campaigns Worth My Time?

Email Campaigns have been in an extremely static spot lately. Many believe the life of the email campaign is well past over. Spam and junk filters weed out most campaign attempts anyway, so why go to the effort? Although email campaigns are still alive, they may not be worth a whole lot of effort on your part.

Many businesses are frustrated by the spam and junk filters that email hosts have come up with. Even though thousands may be sent an email, the hard truth is only a few may ever see a glimpse of it. Every effort is being made to ensure the end-user does not have to be bothered by an unknown business or person.

A fact that can’t be discarded is that some companies are still receiving business generated by email campaigns. There are definitely individuals out there who not only open the email, but actually decide to visit the advertised website. Although the amount of responses to an email campaign has dropped off dramatically, they still produce some revenue.

With our ever expanding social and business network, who has time for things that don’t pertain to our daily life? If you decide to go ahead with an email campaign, your best bet is to make sure it’s personalized. Most soliciting done through email has nothing to do with the user on the other end. Who wants to take the time to open an email that they have no interest in? Whether it’s through paying for lead generation or a different avenue, try to get qualified individuals who could become potential customers. In any event given the small percent of readers that actually go to the web site, if it’s your web site, you want it up all the time. After all, you never know when some one will choose to visit it!

The simple truth is that email campaigns may be worth your time, but not a whole lot of it. Directing your online marketing efforts in another direction would probably provide far greater dividends in the end. If you want to give it a shot, now is the time to do it before email campaigns are just a memory.
