In the beginning, numerous blogs were written for the lone intention of sharing information. Although many blogs are still written with this aim in mind, many are written to make money. How much money can be earned from blogging? Some blogs earn almost nothing, while others provide their creators with plenty to live on. Those blogs which provide a living likewise take a lot of time and effort to create and uphold. There are many intricate steps involved in making a blog that generates a profound income; unfortunately, all of these steps cannot be covered in an article of this size.

If your goal is to make money blogging, your first step should be to add revenue streams to your blog. How is this done? Revenue streams include ads and donations from those who are willing to support you financially in maintaining your blog. You should consider employing Google Adsense. It is a great starting point and they will match ads to your chosen keywords.

Driving traffic to your blog is another significant step in making money from your blog. If you have no visitors to your blog, your ads will be wasted. How do you go about driving traffic to your blog? One way is to submit your best blogs to a “blog carnival”, or a collection of the best blogs on a particular theme. Another way is to submit articles based on your blogs to article directories and link them to your blog. Ezine Articles is one example of an article directory. Your articles should be submitted to as many article directories as possible to achieve maximum effectiveness.

If your goal is to make money from blogging, keep in mind the golden rule - content is king. You should be adding fresh posts to your blog weekly, or more often if achievable. This serves two purposes. The first is that people will continue to visit your blog if your posts are constantly fresh and relevant. They may also recommend your blog to people they know who share the same interests. If your content is stale your readers will not return. Second, if you do not add new content frequently to your blog, the search engines will “forget” you. For example, Google will not list a site if it has been sitting for a few months.

These are just a few of the strategies that productive bloggers utilize to earn money from blogging. Hopefully, they will provide you with some ideas to start you on your way to producing a money-earning blog of your own.
