First, let's talk about what will increase your chances of success before even starting to study Spanish.

Perhaps this is an obvious tip, but you need to be committed. The reason I say this, is because I have seen many people decide to study a foreign language, but then only undertake it in a half-hearted way - If that's the case, then even the best language study program in the world is not going to help much. The method developed by Dr. Pimsleur relies on two basic principles - one is the "Principle of Anticipation", which requires you to "anticipate" a correct answer. This is done by giving you questions to which you can easily anticipate the answers, based on what was said before. The second principal is that of "Graduated Interval Recall" which involves asking you questions about previously presented material, at continually increasing intervals. Which all makes the studying practically effortless. In addition because the course is only audio, it's easy to carry around on an mp3 player and to practice while traveling to work or going for a walk.
