Many when asked will say that the language of Spain is Spanish though this in fact is not the case. This being that saying that Spanish is the language of Spain would have been like saying that the language of Yugoslavia was Yugoslavian. Yes, the people of Yugoslavia could have been addressed as such but not there language for the name of their language was Servo-Croat. This being the case since there was no such language which could be called “Yugoslavian”.
Spain much like Yugoslavia or the ex Soviet Union or the country that used to be called Czechoslovakia has more then one language, as they have many regions which compose their country. All of which have their own language which should not be mistaken for dialects but languages. For instance the region called “Catatonia” which has Barcelona for its capital, has Catalan listed as one of their official languages while the “Basque country” has a completely different language which like Catalan will not be understood by somebody who speaks Spanish.
These are just two examples of how in Spain every region has its own language, however if the topic be the language which is commonly referred to as “Spanish” that is the one spoken in Madrid; which is not only the capital of the whole country of Spain but the region known as Castilla. It is this region of Spain that not only has imposed its language over the rest of the country but exported it to the world which has even accepted it as the language of Spain and labeled it as such with name of “Spanish” though technically speaking it should be called “Castilian”.
In conclusion I would like to say that though “Castilian” is the official language of Spain; it is not the only language and there are even many more all around the world who have taken to studying the other languages, which also have a rich tradition.

Haitian-Creole is one of Haiti's two official languages, along with French. Creole is a language that arose from the mixture of two or more languages. Creoles are typically created when speakers of several mutually unintelligible languages are forced by historical circumstances to discover a new form of spoken communication, which then goes on to become the native language of another generation of speakers. Haitian-Creole is spoken by around eight million people, which accounts for about 80 percent of the entire population, in Haiti.
