Its hard to know what to choose to treat your cellulite with so many products available, so we thought we would help you out.

Cellulite Treatments

Dietary supplements: Several of these products have been marketed and contain a variety of ingredients such as ginkgo biloba, sweet clover, grape-seed bioflavinoids, bladder wrack extract, oil of evening primrose, fish oil, and soy lecithin. These products claim to have positive effects on the body such as boosting metabolism, improving circulation, protecting against cell damage, and breaking down fats. As with many supplements and alternative therapies the claims made are hard to verify.

Further still there are no clinical studies to prove the claims of these supplements as of yet. The studies as of now have yet to prove the value of the products. Dietary supplements that are promoted for the treatment of cellulite may also pose a health risk or may interfere with certain prescription drugs.

Cellulite diets: Some special "cellulite diets" have been proposed that claim to be effective in treating cellulite. By improving circulation to the affected areas and reducing inflammation is how these diets are claimed to work. A healthy diet can decrease fluid retention thus improving the overall look of your skin, however experts agree that a specific diet isn't necessary.

Wraps: There are a range of herbal and other types of body wraps available as cellulite treatments. Yet like cellulite diets, their effects have not been proven or reported in controlled studies in the medical literature. The wraps can improve the appearance of skin and decrease fluid retention but the effects are largely temporary.

Massage treatments: Machines that massage cellulite affected areas have been introduced. One such approved by US FDA is Endermologie which has a temporary reduction in cellulite. While a temporary decrease in the appearance of cellulite may result, the technique appears to redistribute fat rather than permanently alter its configuration under the skin. Regular maintenance cellulite treatments are required after the initial result has been achieved or the appearance of cellulite will come back.

Laser or light therapy: Two light therapy devices have been approved by the FDA, that approve suction or massage with light therapy also to reduce cellulite. However similar to Endermologie both treatments need maintenance sessions to keep up the appearance. Laser/massage sessions generally cost thousands of dollars and thus are more costly than massage sessions.

Well there are a few of the most common cellulite treatments evaluated. However the easiest and most economical option is to choose a reputable cellulite cream.
