All those who play golf would have heard about many golf resorts in Florida, California, Carolina's and many other places where the weather is warm. But you will be surprised to know that New England has many fine golf resorts. Also many of these golf resorts in New England are open all year round. So now when the winter winds blows cold and the snow is piled high in New England you can still think GOLF and book a weekend at one of the New England Golf Resorts.

Some of the Oldies but good golf resorts in New England are Balsams in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire or the Mount Washington Resorts in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The amazing Donald Ross golf course, the scenic view is just one of the attractions of this place. The great mountain course, Ross's styled wide fairways which funnel down to his typically small, covered in greens which are one of the most difficult golf courses. With a backdrop of mountains, Ross built the course on the gentle meadow along the river, with few bunker and trees, but the trouble comes from the greens.

Modern Resort like the Samoset Resort has gorgeous promontory overlooking Penobscot Bay near Camden, Maine. The Resort golf course in the only golf course that has Oceanfront holes in New England. They have recently built a seawall that prevents them from getting washed away. The holes along the ocean are beautiful to look at and there are some that cut across the woods. The holes that cut across the woods are watery and woodsy and one must take a good shot to bring it back home, without shooting the golf ball in a another disastrous direction.

Ocean Edge Resort is the only Golf resort destination in Cape's in Massachusetts. It has Fifty six Scottish style pot bunkers waiting to trap any errant shot and making the golfer stop and think of the club to be used. These pot bunkers centered around are designed by Cornish and Silva.

Fox Hopyard Golf club it is located in East Haddam, Connecticut, located adjacent to Devil's Hopyard State Park. It is a challenging layout that can overwhelm you with its wetlands and scrub brush. It is an excellent course for the first time play, the experience will help you appreciate the intricacies and you will score less.
