This earth is full of beautiful places. The beauty of nature is spread unevenly. The diversity of natural beauty is easily understandable, for example in India there are places with extreme hot climate, temperate climate zone, as well as glaciers full of ice surrounding by the areas with several degrees low temperature than freezing point. The country has abundance of beaches, desert, and mountain ranges ideal for trekking or mountaineering. This kind of natural diversity attracts people (tourists).

Types of Tourist and Tourism

Tourists can be classified as two categories:
1. Global Tourists - Global tourists are those people who come from other countries to visit the places of their interest. It can be for pilgrimage, in search of adventurous places, learning prospects, official tours, spending vacation or for health related issues. Global tourists are more important because they help in growth of foreign currency strength.

2. Local Tourist - Local tourists are those people who come from other parts of country with similar purposes as that of global tourists.

Tourism can be categorized as:
1. Pilgrimage - In every country there are some very famous places of pilgrim’s interest of different religions. People visit these places from all around the world. Places like Mecca and Madeena (in U.A.E), Bethlehem (in Israel), and Bodhgaya (in India) falls into this category. This kind of tourism is known as Pilgrim's Tourism.

2. Medico/Health Tourism - Currently this trend of tourism is being popular. Along with progress in terms of Science and Technology, developing countries are being targeted by people in search of better and cheaper medical and health facilities. This trend is contributing developing countries like India in getting foreign currency.

3. Adventure Tourism - This trend attract adventurous people. Young generation as well as adventurous adults takes interest in adventure sports like trekking, mountaineering, river rafting, and Jungle Safari's. TV channels like Discovery and National Geographic contributed a lot in making people eager to visit such places of interest.

4. Creative Tourism - This trend is related with places of cultural, historic or learning interest. Creative tourism attracts tourists of all age groups.

5. Leisure Tourism - Leisure tourism is the most important and beneficial kind of tourism for every country, because this section generates maximum revenue if compared with other trends of tourism. It includes vacation tours, leisure activities, or wedding and honeymoon trips.

6. Winter Tourism - This is popular in countries with cold climate. Switzerland, Canada, snow covered areas of Alaska, Russia, and Arctic Region attract tourists. Another reason is increasing popularity of Winter Sports.
