There may be a very small percentage of the adult population and maybe in the teenage population that does not have a cell phone. Cell phones have become more of a necessity than a luxury. There are over 1,000 designs of cell phones and many, many cell phone companies competing for your business. Cell phones are a great thing in technology but with the good come the bad. There are debates over the pros and cons of cell phones all over the web.

The great thing about cell phones are that you can take them anywhere, if you are in a supermarket and you have a question about what to buy for dinner, you take out the cell phone and call home. If your car breaks down and you need someone to pick you up, you have a cell phone. Cell phones are great when you aren't at home, if someone needs to reach you they can and the same goes for business. If you are going to be out of the office and a client or your boss needs to reach you right away they can. In case of emergencies they are first rate.

There are negatives as far as cell phones go as well. One thing is that not all states require hands free talking. It can be a distraction when handling the phone as you drive but you concentrate more when you can have two hands on wheel. All states should require hands free. The other negative is that as great as they are for getting calls on the road, there are some places that there aren't as many cell phone towers so you can't get signal everyplace you go. There are dead spots all over the country, what would happen if your car broke down and you have kids and there is no cell service?
