Easy Ways to Develop Your Psychic Skills

Everyone has within them some amount of psychic ability. It is innate in people, just like the ability to paint or play a musical instrument. With training we can learn to play the piano, and in the same way we can learn to harness that psychic ability that is already within us.

The key to tapping into this force is focus.

The basis of every thing on earth, from the people to the plants, animals and things we create, is energy. Psychic skills have to do with tapping into that energy and gaining a better understanding of how energy works.

For a really quick example of the feeling of energy, rub your hands together for about 30 seconds. After you have done this, start with your hands a couple of feet apart and slowly bring them closer together, but don't let them touch.

Can you feel the energy between your hands? Try this again with your eyes closed so that you can focus more on the feeling of the energy. This energy is the basic building block of the universe, and the more you can tap into that energy, the more you can develop your psychic skills.

First you can try to sense when someone is coming closer to you by feeling his or her energy pattern. You can also begin to feel the energy that is held in objects and see if you can tell anything about the person who owns or owned the object just by touching it.

If you haven't had a lot of psychic experiences before, this may seem preposterous, but relax, hold the item in your hand and visualize it clearly in your mind, remembering that the energy of the person is in the object. There's actually a step-by-step process that can help you to "read" objects, which you can learn easily in just a matter of days.

In the beginning some of this information is sure to be inaccurate, incomplete or somehow confused. As with any other skill, it takes practice to tap into this energy and to understand what it is trying to tell you.

The most important thing you can remember when trying to develop your psychic skills is that we are all energy and the universe is the same energy. There is no need to connect to a higher power or plane of existence to tap into your psychic abilities-it is already all within you.

Meditation is a simple mental practice, which looks like thinking, but goes far beyond the process of thinking. Meditation is a heightened state of awareness. The practice of meditation can be seen in ancient religious texts (Christian, Muslim and most importantly Hindu scripts). The most widely followed meditation is Yoga meditation. Yoga was part of ancient Indian (Hindu) life and is still widely practiced. Yoga also suggests a few asana (yoga poses) for meditation and there are poses that are not suited for meditation.
Meditation is healthy, safe and affordable. In fact it’s free. The only expense you’ll have is a meditation mat, which isn’t especially necessary-at least from my experience. Meditation has been around for 5,000 years, and was originally a spiritual component of yoga. Through the years non-yogis adopted it, intuitively sensing and connecting the practice with greater peace of mind.
The title of this article may seem a little strange. How can I say meditation does not work when there is a vast amount of research which seems to show that it does? Much research, in the scientific field, points to the fact that meditation can; make you healthier (both emotionally and physically), make you look younger, bolster the immune system, help you recover faster after operations, reduce stress, help you to live longer, remove past emotional issues and alter negative beliefs.
Even those who have never heard of binaural beats have elementary knowledge of meditation though it may be slightly misguided. Although meditation is becoming more popular in the western world it has been practised for thousands of years in the East. It is only recently that binaural beats have been used to create the same effect.
When everyone else was listening to Guns N' Roses, wearing tight jeans with baseball boots and perming their overgrown hair, a man called Bill Harris was busy creating a truly unique personal development product - Holosync. Harris's Holosync product centred on the idea that you could listen to a CD and enter a state of meditation akin to that of a Zen Buddhist Monk.
Problems? Sleep over it and daydream the solution in less than twenty minutes. Meditation is a key practice to help you keep your mind focused on what ever you decide to think to. And an unemotional, objective mind is a lot more efficient at problem solving than a mind distracted by the emotional burden of fears and hopes.
Meditation is the method of choice for spiritual practice in many religions. The benefits of meditation don't stop at this level though. Your mind and body benefit immensely from meditation. There are few drawbacks though, one should be aware before taking up meditation. The problem is ... within us. We all carry a baggage of traumas buried deep down in our subconscious minds. These are unpleasant events, consequence of our own or other people actions that affected us. Our minds try to protect us by covering up these experiences. In other words, we forget. Or do we?
