Acne is a common skin disorder that usually appears in adolescence and in many cases in adult people as well. Sometimes it can last in sufferer's thirties and forties.

Besides facial acne, people might get body or back acne. If acne is not properly treated it can result in scarring.

According to a careful research, diet and food may affect acne episodes in many patients. There are many patients that keep trying several acne treatments, mostly in the form of antibiotics, but they don't obtain a good enough result. Various acne products, including home remedies, are useless. In fact, some of these remedies make people feel sick instead of being a good acne cure. But these acne patients also have natural remedies as an option to consider besides such treatments. A link was found between some types of food and acne which can adversely affect and worsen acne severity. Acne is an inflammatory process, and some foods that cause acne can surely influence inflammation.

Food that can worsen your acne condition

Do not eat excess amount of baked goods, sugar, fruit juices, processed flour, sweets, and hydrogenated or trans fats. If you eat cakes, chips, breads etc on regular basis then you are likely to promote acne. Do not eat excess amount of walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, and other nuts. Studies demonstrate that peanut butter and peanuts sometimes make acne worse in some people. Do not eat excess amount of milk and derivatives, including ice cream and cheese. Studies demonstrate that whether you take milk was skim, low fat or whole, there is a link between milk consumption and acne. The reason is that there is an elevated amount of hormones produced in the milk of cows. Taking an excess amount of vitamin E supplements is not recommended. Studies reveal that some people notice acne pimples after ingesting vitamin E. The connection between acne and vitamin E is still uncertain. In few cases, acne aggravated after very large intake of B vitamins.

Don't despair. There are other aliments that can help you; these foods provide you with the right nutrients to alleviate and even clear acne. Such foods include fish like salmon, tuna, halibut, and sardines. These can have the same results than a good natural skin treatment. Increase your vegetable portions, preferably organic. Instead of just a few vegetables, try some variety. The combination of vegetables and fish can be the best meal from the point of view of improving acne and health. Finally, drink a lot of water. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water can keep you safe from bowel diseases and acne.
