Electrical Engineer Resume Example - Did You Just Download A Dud?

How to tell if the example resume you're looking at is a dud

Copying a sample Electrical Engineer Resume is a sure fire way to decrease the time it will take to submit an application for jobs. However there are a few things you should check over before rushing ahead and blindly copying the template you've got.

Colour Of Your Resume Sections

The quickest way to tell if a resume is a good example, is to see if the design grabs your attention without being too loud. As electrical engineer's aren't fashion designers you don't want a resume to have substantial amounts of colour or finely drawn pictures, but you do want something with a a little modern colour to highlight different sections. Adding a splash of colour separates your resume from the rest with a modern look.

White Space

You also want to check that your template uses white space. White space makes your resume simpler to digest and looks cleaner than the usual cluttered, busy, text heavy resume. But of course you don't want the design of the resume template to look plain and boring like something from the first version of MS word.

Fonts Matter

Is the font easily legible? If your template has tight small fonts consider how hard this may be for anybody to scan! Select an easy to read find like Arial or Veranda and ensure it's consistent across the whole resume.

The First Page

Does the first page of the resume have the following things?

* A section where you can highlight the most important information about your career

* Does it have a section for your name, current position and company?

* Does it use large text to grab the reader's attention immediately?

If your Electrical Engineer Resume template doesn't have these basic features it's not modern enough to help you get a job. In fact you could actually hurt your chances in getting a call from a recruiter for an interview.
