One of the easiest way to make a large income online is starting a membership website. If done correctly, the right membership website can earn you a six-figure income. However, even without marketing, membership websites are turnkey and can generate a lot of income naturally.
Let me explain what a membership website is. Membership websites are websites where a user pays to have access. They can be in the form of directories, content or training websites.

Many membership sites are directory sites, which is the type that I will be referring to. In a directory site, a user pays to have access to a large directory of something, usually businesses. The thing with membership sites is, you need to create a great appeal in joining one. Like the business directory membership website, you get access to an exclusive list of businesses that will allow you to do more businesses.

Besides making money off users who want access to your directory, you can get paid from businesses who want to be in your directory. Many businesses pay to be in directories because it is great exposure. For new businesses to approach you, your directory has to be moderately successful.

Almost all directories focus on a certain niche. While a broad niche will allow you to attract a great amount of members, a more specific niche will make getting members easier. Directories do not just need to be for products and services online. A membership directory can have the names of good fitness trainers in one city. While this is very specific, it would attract a lot of people from that area.

Advantages of membership websites:

1. The great thing about this type of business is the everlasting income. Even after you stop working on the business, as long as you have members, you will continue to make money.

2. As the niche is so heavily focused, you have little competition and marketing is easy.

Disadvantages of membership websites:

1. The only potentially difficult or expensive part would be starting the business, as purchasing a list of businesses to include could potentially cost a lot.

2. You need to be determined and patient enough to stick with your directory, as getting it off the ground can be hard. be prepared to have to work hard.
