I'm sure many of you readers are in the same boat I was just six months ago, before I finally broke the habit of smoking cigarettes. You have tried and failed many times to quit smoking, and have all but given up. I know where your coming from. I've tried quitting cold turkey, nicotine patches, nicotine gum, prescription medicine, and they all had the same thing in common. They just didn't work for me. I almost just gave up and gave in to my habit, but I knew I owed it to myself and my family to quit smoking, and I did.

What if I told you that quitting smoking didn't have to be so hard? That quitting didn't have to take such a mental toll on you and your family. That you didn't have to suffer the irritability, mood swings and cravings, that have stopped you from quitting before. And best of all that you would not need to where a patch, chew gum or take a prescription for weeks on end to do it.

Now you are probably thinking, if there were a way to quit that easily, everyone would know about it, and we would all be smoke free all ready. That is what I thought as well. I was waiting for some new miracle product to come along and save me. But, what I was looking for wasn't something new. It was something I had heard of, and just never really took it seriously.

You see, I am talking about hypnotherapy. Don't laugh or scoff just yet. I am a long time skeptic of anything like this. Like many of you, I thought it was a joke or a scam to take my money. It would never work for me. That attitude is what held me back from quitting for a long time. Eventually though, I hit my breaking point and I was willing to try anything to quit. Why the sudden change of mind? I will explain more on that later. First let me try to convince some of my fellow skeptics on why hypnotherapy works.

Because you have tried to quit, maybe several times unsuccessfully, you have trained your mind to believe it is very hard to quit smoking. This belief over time is ingrained into your unconscious mind. So while consciously you may want to quit smoking your powerful unconscious mind simply will not let you.

When you first started smoking you were buying into years of conditioning that told you cigarettes would somehow make you feel better, more confident and more relaxed. After lighting up those first few cigarettes, smokers instill these false beliefs directly into their unconscious mind, along with the belief that quitting will be really difficult.

So you make a conscious decision to begin smoking because of the perceived benefits of feeling better, more relaxed and more confident. As time goes on and the uncomfortable physical reactions of inhaling the poisonous fumes begin to subside you develop a nicotine addiction. Now you begin to mistake the relief of feeding that addiction with feelings of relaxation and confidence, because that is what your unconscious mind has been programmed to feel.

So after many years of smoking and thousands of cigarettes later, you have re-enforced those unhelpful beliefs about smoking and how hard it is to quit. You have also trained your unconscious mind to wrongfully associate the process of lighting up with feeling good, confident and relaxed.

Hypnotherapy can allow smokers to re-train their unconscious mind to disregard those false beliefs about smoking and how hard it is to quit, and swap those unconscious beliefs for something more exciting and fulfilling. Feeling absolutely great once again. As a result the withdrawal pangs of irritability, mood swings and cravings, the reasons you couldn't quit before, will be replaced with feelings of relaxation, improved self confidence and overall happiness.

So what was it that finally changed my mind, and made me give hypnotherapy a try? To be honest it is because I am cheap. I still was not sold on the idea of hypnotherapy when I tried it, but I had tried everything else, and spent a lot of money on patches and gum that didn't work. I was online one night looking for ideas on how to quit smoking, and started finding a lot of information on hypnotherapy. I started to notice how much money these guys were charging for sessions, and decided it was a rip off. It reaffirmed my belief that these guys were scamming people out of their money.

So just when I was ready to close the door on hypnotherapy once again, I stumbled upon a website that eventually changed my life. For less than Fifty dollars I could download the session right on my computer. After the money I all ready wasted on other products this price was nothing. Best of all for a skeptic like me, it had an 8 week money back guarantee. So, with no risk, I gave it a shot, fully expecting that it would not work and I would return it. I'm glad to say I was proven wrong. I quit smoking and haven't looked back.
