Wide area vacuum cleaners have now become a must have tool for commercial cleaners. These vacuums were first introduced in the early eighties and have evolved in to ultimate carpet cleaning machines. In days of old, cleaning large carpeted areas was a tedious and cumbersome task involving worker fatigue and escalated labor rates. The first wide area vacuums took the form of two upright vacuums basically strapped together to cover more surface area. Since these early vacuums, the wide area units have been redefined with sleek Rotocast bodies, larger vacuum motors and self propulsion systems. Sizes of current vacuum cleaners range from twenty inches up to 50 inches for large conference floors and hotels. The most reliable of the wide area series of vacuums in the Pacer 30 by NSS boasting a thirty inch cleaning path, 1725 Rpm on the front brush agitator and two 2 HP motors for added suction.

The Pacer 30 wide area vacuum cleaner redefines the way a wide area vacuum should be built. With a cleaning rate of 19,000 square feet per hour the Pacer 30 takes a new approach to labor effective cleaning. Its overall good looks and sturdy design house two single stage one horsepower motors boasting forty four inches of water lift, each ample suction for any vacuuming task. The internal area within the Pacer 30 is well arranged with easy access to the internal mechanical components for easy repair and maintenance. The vacuum motors are located to the right of the swing open door and can be removed quickly for easy replacement and decreased downtime. Toward the center of the compartment is the heavy duty cloth bag with zippered enclosure which contains a paper vacuum bag for increased filtration. Changing the bag is quick and easy with just a loosening of a clip and removal from the unit. The cloth vacuum bag can hold an ample 1.5 bushels of refuse which provides long intervals between changing.

The compact design of the Pacer 30 makes the unit easy to store folding down to just twenty three inches in overall height making storage in tight janitor closets possible. Two heavy duty retaining clips secure to handle when in use and can be adjusted to 6 different settings to accommodate the user’s height. User hand strain is common among cleaning staff utilizing wide area vacuums. The Pacer 30 combats this with a neoprene foam padded handle and two dead man levers which make the machine easy to operate and easy to handle. On the rear side of the unit NSS has added an optional tool port with extra suction for hard to reach places and baseboards. The tools area neatly and securely attached to the front of the unit out of the way but very accessible for quick assembly. Overall the outer body on the vacuum cleaner is well designed and well constructed making a leader in the wide area line up.

The underside of the machine is built to withstand extreme punishment. The front underside of the unit is protected by a metal plate that surrounds the large 28 inch beater bar. The beater bar is sturdy in design with easy access for cleaning off hair, lint and stuck debris. The back wheels on the unit are large enough to make maneuvering the vacuum easy but yet hold firm to hard floors.

Overall the Pacer 30 is a leader in its class and should not be overlooked when looking at wide area vacuum cleaners. The Pacer is ideal for hotels, large restaurants and conference centers and should really help keep down labor costs while maintaining quality of cleanliness. The Pacer 30 also has a snap on HEPA filter for Green cleaning and health care environments where air pollutants are a concern.

Absolute air purifier efficiency ratings are almost impossible to come by. Why does the industry hide these figures? What can you use as a guide when buying an air purifier? For far too long the air purifier industry has sold products without fully disclosing those products' real capabilities. I'm sorry to say, there are many air cleaners that are not worth buying.
