"I am a Wiccan and I believe in the after life," says Scarlet Aslan, one of the new guides at Ghosts, Mysteries and Legends of Old Fort Lauderdale. This odd character trait gives her an advantage other ghost tour guides do not have.
Of course, as a successful songwriter, Irving Berlin was as well acquainted with socialites as F. Scott Fitzgeral or Cole Porter. What is interesting is that those whose work brought them into contact with socialites often did not express a great deal of admiration for them. It's worth noting however, that unlike the socialites with whom they associated, Fitzgerald, Porter and Berlin all had brilliant, creative careers in which they produced works of lasting value, making significant contributions to American culture - and this may be one of the secrets to true happiness and contentment.
In fact, African-American musicians have long been central to NYC nightlife. The African rhythms that came together with European tonality to form the basis of ragtime, jazz, R and B and rock 'n' roll were present in New York City long before the first ragtime pianists arrived from the Midwest, or the refugees from New Orlean's infamous Storyville District began trickling in starting in the 1920s.

This one thing that seems to be stuck in peoples minds no matter what they write, no matter how they feel. If angry, sad or tired they still seem to use this common theme.
