1. Gliding and Flying tour adventure

The gliding club of Kenya, near Nyeri in central highlands, offers silent glides over the Aberdares. Flying lessons are easily arranged in Nairobi and are much cheaper than in Europe, USA and Australasia.

2. Sailing tour adventures

Kilifi, Mtwapa and Mombasa all have sailing clubs, and smaller fresh water clubs can also be found at Lake Naivasha and Lake Victoria, which both have excellent windsurfing and sailing. If you're experienced, you may pick up some crewing at the various Yacht clubs, although you'll need to become a temporary member. While it isn't hands on, a traditional dhow trip out of Lamu is an unforgettable experience.

3. Trekking and Climbing tour holiday

For proper Mt. Climbing, Mt. Kenya is the obvious choice, but other promising and relatively unexplored walking territory includes mt. Elgon on the Ugandan border, the Cherengani Hills and Kerio valley east of Kitale, the Matthews range and the Ndoto Mountains north of Isiolo, the Loroghi Hills north of Mararal, the Mau Forest region near Nakuru, the upper reaches of Aberdares and even Ngong Hills, close to Nairobi.

4. Water Sports on Kenyan Beaches tour trips

Conditions on Kenya's coast are ideal for windsurfing-the country's offshore reefs protect the waters, and the winds are usually reasonably strong and constant. Most resort hotels south and north of Mombasa have sail boards for hire; rates vary from Kshs 400 to Kshs 800 per hour, and instruction is also available. The sheltered channel between Lamu and Manda Islands is one of the best places to windsurf on the coast.

As well as the ubiquitous windsurfing, diving and snorkeling are always on offer. Some of the larger resorts have water sports centers giving visitors the opportunity to try out absolutely everything from jetskies and banana boats to body boarding and traditional surfing. Kite surfing is the latest craze to catch on, with tuition available. Diani beach, south of Mombasa, is the best place to go if you want to try any (or all) of these activities.

5. White water rafting-The Kenya River Parks adventure

The Athi/Galana River has substantial rapids, chutes and waterfalls and there are also possibilities on the Tana River and Ewaso Nyiro River near Isiolo. The most exciting times for a white water rafting Kenya trip are from late October to mid January and from early April to late July, when water levels are highest.

Depending on water levels, rafting trips of up to 450km and three weeks' duration can be arranged although most trips last one to four days and cover up to 80 km.

One of the most popular short trips (US$95 per person, one day) is on the Tana River, northeast of Nairobi, which covers grade two to five rapids. Overnight trips with more time spent on the river cost US$140. Also possible are three day adventures on the Athi river, south east of Nairobi (US$380 per person plus US $95 per extra day), and the Ewaso Ngiro River, Northwest of Isiolo (US$450 per person with additional days at US$105 per day).

The above prices include transport from Nairobi, tented accommodation, good-quality food, soft drinks and beer. You are also provided with all necessary rafting equipment including life jackets and helmets. At least four people are required for the Tana trips and at least six for the other rivers.

The Kenya Tour Company also offers a wide range of other land and water based activities including Kayaking and sailing.

One of the least expensive, yet most fulfilling, types of vacations is the camping and backpacking trip. Hiking through the back country at one of the nation's magnificent national parks, or just wandering around the wilderness of a state park closer to home, can be a great way to commune with nature, and a wonderful way for families to get away and enjoy being together.
Adventure tours are truly becoming a phenomenon. Just about everyone wants to live life to its fullest. Below, is a list of some of today's interesting adventure tours. Alcatraz Island. The name of a San Francisco island is also the name of a former federal prison known as 'The Rock,' from which no prisoner ever escaped. Around a year ago, I went on a skiing vacation to France and had a great time by all accounts. The best part was that I went with all my friends, all of which had varied abilities, but were all eager to give it a go. Some of my friends compete in competitions and the like, whilst others have only been on the slopes a few times in their life. The fact is that we were all really looking forward to it, and we were all sure to enjoy ourselves whilst we were away. Unfortunately, we don't spend much time together, as we all go to different colleges, whilst others are trying to make it through the rat race.
For many people, camping outdoors is an experience lacking much to be desired. We are used to having luxuries such as indoor plumbing, electricity and a comfortable bed. Also, many people just try to "wing it" when it comes to going on a camping trip. They have no agenda, no plans for what to do, and no knowledge of the outdoors. When it comes to the children, they are just as lost as the adults, having never been taught how to survive in the great outdoors.
There are people who are fond of traveling. They like to go to places where they can recharge their souls, unwind, release the tension from work, and simply enjoy what life has to offer. And there are people who are more of the adventurous type who would rather enjoy the day exploring the forest canopy in Costa Rica or discover the beauty of the wilderness of Siberia.
One of the fondest childhood memories I have are camping with my dad. My dad and I would grab our tent, sleeping bags and fishing poles and head down to a local lake for a weekend. Camping can be a wonderful activity for the entire family. It can also become a huge calamity if you are not prepared or don't know what to expect.
