Lacrosse Recruiting for High School Students

 By: Anne Harvester
High school is a wonderful time for young people, and if you are an athlete, you can also take that time and use it to hone your skills in order to win a scholarship to college. As you progress through your high school years, you will notice that the pressure increases to get into a great college. Instead of worrying and wondering, you can take a few steps on your own right now to make it easier for lacrosse recruiting scouts to find you, be impressed with your work and play, and hopefully to offer you a scholarship to the school of your choice.

One activity you can participate in during your high school years are lacrosse recruiting camps. Lacrosse recruiting camps offer coaches and coaching staff from colleges and universities a chance to see you and other lacrosse players do what you do best. You can plan ahead by checking out college and university lacrosse coach staff's schedules so you can be sure to attend and play at a lacrosse recruiting camp where your favorite college will be in attendance.

One of the advantages of a lacrosse recruiting scout seeing you play a live game is that they can watch the entire game if they have time. College lacrosse recruiting staff will see how you perform during all the ups and downs that come with a competition, and this will give them information they need in order to select the best players for their college and university teams.

It is a great idea to attend a lacrosse recruiting camp at your top-pick colleges and universities. If you make arrangements in advance, you can often meet with the coaches, and this allows them to get to know you better as well. You can attend college lacrosse games during your visits at lacrosse recruiting camps, and watch how the coaches work with the players during a game.

Lacrosse recruiting can also happen online. You might want to consider putting together a personal webpage that gives information about you playing lacrosse. During your high school sports career you will also want to make a lacrosse recruiting video of yourself playing in games. A lacrosse recruiting video can be sent to a coach for them to watch at their leisure, but it can also be uploaded to your webpage, so that coaches and lacrosse recruiting staff can easily access it.

Anything you can do to make it easier for college lacrosse recruiting staff to contact you will be to your benefit. Be sure to include your email address and link to your webpage each time you communicate with college lacrosse recruiting personnel. Following these suggestions can tip the odds in your favor that you will get to go to the college you want to play lacrosse.

It was a clear, warm summer afternoon on Lake Chaubunagungamaug in Webster, Massachusetts. We were anchored in a quiet cove, playing a lively game of cribbage when I spotted a pair of eagles soaring high above us. It was as if they were playing a game of tag. Then suddenly one of the eagles headed straight down into the water and came back up with a big fish in its beak. He flew to a tall bushy pine tree nearby to enjoy his fresh catch.
Families today are all electronically connected. Facebook, Twitter and texting are the norm today. When I grew up such things were not available to us and many of us have “Happy Memories” of an earlier day. The younger generation today is losing its ability to create "Happy Memories" and I feel for them. Most of the younger generation have not had the chance to see the sun rise over a low hanging fog on a beautiful lake.
Summer time is here, let's enjoy all the activities that goes along with that and avoid pesky insects through prevention/treatment. The four ‘B’s of Summer; BBQ, Baseball, Beaches and Bugs! Like many of you, I have my favorite BBQ meal (Ribs) and favorite Baseball team (Tampa Bay Rays) and of course my favorite beaches (St. Petersburg-Belleair); but who has a favorite bug?

I did a Google search and came across your site. It was exactly what I was looking for and was elated to find such a broad range of articles. As I am launching a free magazine in a small town in Florida, I wanted to be as resourceful as possible while still being able to provide some content that is interesting and well written. Your site has all the variables in the mix. Excellent Site hitting all the notes in the scale sort of speak.
