Long hair is not by luck. It is by choice and by conscious effort. So if you do have long hair, don’t go green because the next door girl does. You too can have long flowing hair.

Hair grows at an average of ½ an inch every month, but if you do not take good care of it, then it may take two or even three months. Long hair begins by having patience. You cannot think of having long hair one day and found it grown the next day. You must be calm and have patience.

First if you knot your hair in any haphazard way, stop doing it. The hair grows weak when it is twisted and turned in an indiscreet fashion. Also do not always style your hair in one particular style, as the hair gets used to that setting and will not change easily. So do a centre parting or shift from left to right side. Or braid your hair, half-pony, full pony, there are a thousand ways to do your hair. So do not keep a particular style for more than 2-3 days.

Oil your hair every time you plan to wash it. As there is nourishment in oil. It makes the hair strands thicker and nourished from the root. While washing your hair with shampoo make sure all the shampoo particles are washed off thoroughly because if there are any flakes left, dandruff gets developed. In case of a conditioner, do not apply it on the scalp, just put all around the hair. Leave it for around a minute, then wash it off clean too.

The secret to long hair, is getting a regular trim. Every two to three months, cut off the extra points and bring your hair to shape. Take a look at a hairstyle magazine and get a cut that is two-three inches longer than shown. Giving style with a haircut enhances your hair to grow evenly and stronger.

Another core truth is the intake. Whatever you eat, will reflect on your face and your hair. So if its junk food then your hair is not getting any nourishment. Whereas if it is a wholesome meal of vegetables, pulses, grains and salads then your hair will grow in full form. So for your hair try to eat healthy.

Ladies on prenatal vitamins do not have to worry much. Your hair and nails will grow way faster than you will ever think. It is only after delivery, that hair fall begins and that is the time for a short haircut.
