Lacrosse is a great sport, and for some high school students it is a way to earn a scholarship to college, by playing on a college lacrosse team. If this is what you wish to do, you will need to start early and plan ahead in order to reach this goal. One of the important steps you can take is to attend lacrosse recruiting camps. College lacrosse recruiting coaches will be in attendance, and it gives you a great opportunity to not only show these coaches what you can do on the field, but to also check out the college where the camp takes place, and see how you like it.
Starting in your sophomore year in high school, you will want to start narrowing down your list of favorite colleges. By doing this, it helps you to focus your attention on the ones that can do the most for you. It also helps you to not waste time on those that for whatever reason dropped off your list.
Once you have a narrowed list, this can help you when it comes to lacrosse recruiting camps. You will want to begin your scholarship process by doing a little research. Check out each college in which you have an interest, and determine who the lacrosse coaching staff are, and what their scholarship requirements are. You will see that lacrosse college recruiting deals with academics in addition to sports, and you will find out what academic goals need to be met in order to qualify for a college lacrosse recruiting scholarship at the college of your choice.
After the research, you will want to sign up to attend lacrosse recruiting camps and lacrosse recruiting tournaments that will best meet your needs. You want to be seen by the coaching staff of the colleges you are most interested in, so you will want to check their schedules to see which lacrosse recruiting camps they will be attending. You also want to attend a camp at a college you might like to attend. This gives you a chance to not only have fun playing lacrosse at the camp, but you can also check out student housing, the cafeteria, and watch the college lacrosse team play, so you can see what the college is like in person.
In addition to attending lacrosse recruiting camps, you will also want to shoot a lacrosse recruiting video of yourself. By sending your lacrosse recruiting video to your favorite colleges' lacrosse college recruiting staffs prior to your attendance at a camp gives them an opportunity to see you in action ahead of time, so hopefully they will be looking for you at the camps you attend. Make sure you have a digital version of your lacrosse recruiting video available to make it even easier for college lacrosse recruiting coaches to see you play well.

It was a clear, warm summer afternoon on Lake Chaubunagungamaug in Webster, Massachusetts. We were anchored in a quiet cove, playing a lively game of cribbage when I spotted a pair of eagles soaring high above us. It was as if they were playing a game of tag. Then suddenly one of the eagles headed straight down into the water and came back up with a big fish in its beak. He flew to a tall bushy pine tree nearby to enjoy his fresh catch. Families today are all electronically connected. Facebook, Twitter and texting are the norm today. When I grew up such things were not available to us and many of us have “Happy Memories” of an earlier day. The younger generation today is losing its ability to create "Happy Memories" and I feel for them. Most of the younger generation have not had the chance to see the sun rise over a low hanging fog on a beautiful lake. Summer time is here, let's enjoy all the activities that goes along with that and avoid pesky insects through prevention/treatment. The four ‘B’s of Summer; BBQ, Baseball, Beaches and Bugs! Like many of you, I have my favorite BBQ meal (Ribs) and favorite Baseball team (Tampa Bay Rays) and of course my favorite beaches (St. Petersburg-Belleair); but who has a favorite bug?
