 By: Lesley Lyon
The ovaries are considered as a vital part in the reproductive system of the females. The ovaries perform a dual job. The hormones are produced by the ovaries which include estrogen and prompts for the menstruation. It also releases every month one egg for the likely fertilization.

There are various conditions like cyst to the tumor that can create pain on the ovary. The ovaries can be found in the lower abdomen. If a person feels the pain at the lower abdomen or under the belly button and the pelvis then it is the pain in the ovary. Hence regular check up for any irregular pain has to be done with the family doctor or the obstetrician or the gynecologist. Various conditions can be reasoned out for the ovarian pain.

The pain that occurs in the ovary may be severe and sometimes it may be continuous. Severe pain attacks the person very quickly and also goes off within a short time. But the continuous or the chronic pain will go steadily and will stay for many months.

The pain in the ovary may be incessant and sometimes it may just come and go immediately. Some of the activities like exercising or the urination will worsen the ovarian pain. For some people, the pain in the ovary may be negligible and hence they will not be noticing it and for some it will be very severe and thus affects their regular work.

The doctors perform various methods to diagnose the causes for the ovary pain. They may insist for a complete physical examination and also will enquire about the entire activities of the affected person to get the correct diagnosis.

The questions raised by the doctors will include the place of the pain, pain started time, duration of the pain, severity of the pain and its effect on the person.

The various reasons for the ovarian pain are the cysts in the ovaries that may occur due to the uneven menstrual periods, pain during the movement of the bowel, vomiting or nausea, will feel heavy after consuming a little quantity of food and getting bloated. The treatment to get rid of the cyst has to be done immediately so as to get relieved of the ovarian pain. Various medical examinations or tests can be undertaken to diagnose the exact reason for the pain.

The next is the tumor in the ovary. Like the tumor forming in the other parts of the body can be formed easily in the ovary. They may be of malignant or of benign. Some of the symptoms for the tumor are the abdomen pressure or bloating, urgent urination, improper digestion, constipation, appetite loss and unexpected loss in weight or vice versa. The tumor can be treated by laparoscopy, chemotherapy and radiation.

Due to the vast development in the medical field, nothing is impossible to cure.
