A few simple changes to your life can help you be better prepared to confront the feelings present in panic attacks and you can train your mind to cope with anxiety so it either doesnīt trigger your fight/flight response or allows the rush to dissipate quickly.

Think of bungee jumping or riding a rollercoaster. What an exhilarating yet terrifying experience all at the same time. Your heart races, your palms sweat, you catch your breath, you feel dizzy and confused yet you donīt panic. Why not? Many of the same physical reactions present in panic attacks are triggered by this insane leap of death or wild ride of fury. Why havenīt you had a panic attack?

The answer is you know what youīre doing, you know when itīs going to end and you know itīs not life threatening if done properly. If you could accept these same facts about panic attacks, their power over you would diminish to such an extent you probably wouldnīt have one again.

The fear and anxiety fuel the panic reactions, once you remove that, the panic is gone.

Skydiving, parasailing, bungee jumping, riding a roller coaster, or taking a plane flight may all trigger a little anxiety, thatīs okay, anxiety is part of life. Whatīs important is that the little bit of anxiety you feel doesnīt develop into a high anxiety experience, thus, triggering a panic attack.

The key to talking yourself off that ledge of panic is to accept that there is no real danger, so there is no real reason to panic. Once you accept this fundamental premise, it can help you control, manage and stop your panic attacks.

Coping with anxiety is something that most people have probably dealt with at some point in their lives. Anyone who has ever experienced anxiety attacks can attest that the condition can be very debilitating. Shortness of breath, palpitations, numbness, nausea, and the feeling of being trapped are all part and parcel of having an anxiety attack. Fortunately, there are ways of preventing an attack, foremost of which is identifying its cause.
In the United States alone, millions of people are recorded to have been suffering from anxiety disorders every year. This only proves that anxiety is one of the most common psychological illnesses today; actually even more prevalent than depression.
With today's fast-paced society, learning how to deal and cope with anxiety are very important. Everyone has to find ways to survive the inevitable setbacks and trying realities of life, which include endless money issues, busy work schedules, exasperating relationship problems, and unbelievable traffic jams.
