When you want to reach as many people as possible with your pet related ads, pet classifieds are often the best way to go. Many people are constantly checking these and if you use online pet classifieds services, youŽll reach thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of potential buyers. This obviously opens up huge potential, whether you are selling animals or pet accessories. However, your ads need to be written to sell, otherwise, theyŽll just sit there like a lump.

Where to List

The first thing to consider is where your pet classifieds will be listed. There are plenty of free pet classifieds sites out there and you can definitely use these services, but they arenŽt going to get the same results as a paid service. The reason for this is pretty simple, you will not receive the same responce as you would if your advert looks amazing and really jumps from the page.

If you have the time and energy to sort through free classifieds sites until you find some relatively spam free ones, go for it. Also, youŽll get much faster results by upgrading your advert on the above website. Spammers are nowhere to be seen on this site, so youŽll have your ad in front of more trusting viewers.

Writing Your Pet Classified

Most classifieds are going to be fairly limited in length. The majority of pet classifieds are required to be 100 words or less, but the length varies. You also donŽt want the ad to be too long, since people will be scanning the page and longer ads are more likely to get skipped.

The idea is to get as much information as possible into as small a space as possible. This is done with clever writing and use of the right words. You want the potential buyer to know everything necessary in order to decide that they are interested and to weed out the ones who are interested in something else. For example, if you are selling purebred puppies and someone is just looking for a friendly mutt to play with the kids, you donŽt want them ringing you.

Start your pet classifieds off with an eye-catching phrase. It should instantly communicate what you are selling and should be short enough to catch the readerŽs attention. To get some ideas, take a look at some other classifieds listings to see what is working for others.

You may use a question or a description to start off your ad. For example, “Looking for manŽs best friend?” or “Cutest kittens on Earth!” This instantly lets the reader know what you are selling and if they are interested, theyŽll keep reading.

The next part of your ad needs to describe what you are selling and why it is desirable. This is where you should put any information like what is the breed of animal, what colour, if it has had its shots or any other pertinent information. This is basically an elimination, where the client will decide if they are interested in the animal you are listing for sale or not.

Finally, youŽll need contact information. How do you want people to contact you? Should they ring you or write an email? Decide on this and add the information at the bottom of the ad. It can be a good idea to offer more than one form of communication.

Whether or not you include the price is up to you, but you will tend to get more valid responses if the price is there in your pet classifieds, since anyone unwilling to pay your price probably wonŽt bother contacting you.
Writing great pet classifieds takes some practice, but thereŽs no reason you canŽt rewrite until you are satisfied that you have the best possible ad to put out there.
