It is an all-too common occurrence: a friend or relative stops by and you decide to show them some of the photographs you have taken of you and your family on a recent excursion. The only problem is that you cannot find the particular pictures you want. Like many families, you probably have accumulated hundreds of photographs over the years, and it does not take long for all of those items to become disorganized if you are not careful. This is when photo storage, which can include photo storage boxes and archival photo storage solutions, make perfect sense. You can also keep track of your favorite pictures by framing them and hanging them on your walls. Framing supplies such as quality mat board are an inexpensive investment in the look of your home or office.

An easy way to keep track of your beloved family photos is to place them in photo storage boxes. You can get several, and then sort your pictures according to year, or by special events such as graduations, vacation trips or weddings. This type of photo storage offers a truly simple way to organize your pictures, and with appropriate labels on the outsides of the boxes, you can retrieve the pictures you want quickly and easily.

There are, however, other types of photo storage solutions besides photo storage boxes. Archival photo storage is possible with clear bags that have been made using appropriate materials that are acid free. You will find this type of storage solution comes in hundreds of different sizes, so that you can accommodate any size photograph or painting. Heavier plastic bags provide more protection to the artwork, and clear bags make it possible to see and enjoy the photos even when they are in the bags.

Another archival quality photo storage option is to use photo storage sleeves. Acid free and clear, these storage sleeves work well for organizing both digital and film photographs. Side and top-loading sleeves are available, making them quick and easy to use.

When you are ready to display your artwork so that the public can see it, a lovely frame with a paper mat is the perfect storage solution. Mats come in pre cut and custom sizes, so that you can find the one that will meet your needs. Paper mat board also comes in a host of different colors, making it easy to select the appropriate one or ones to use with your artwork to set it off to perfection. Although not typically thought of as a photo storage solution, nevertheless a great frame and mat is an excellent way to store and enjoy your most treasured photographs.

At the User Generated Content Expo there was one common theme that kept coming through no matter who the speaker was. That theme was that quality content is key to success. I believe this is an especially important point for stock photographers. Further, that is true whether you are shooting for Rights Managed, Royalty Free or Microstock.
As in the words of Andreas Feininger, an eminent American photographer, a photographer is like an artist who has the power to control the subject matter of his photography. He has the ability to control space, form, light, texture, speed, etc. The only one thing, on which he doesn't have control, is the 'composition'.
This comes in a wide variety of types of wood, as well as colorations available through stains and paints, so there is more potential for adding a colorful addition to your artwork with this option. Wood picture frame moulding also blends in well with casual home decor, unlike metal frames, which may appear a little modern in country or rustic types of interior design styles.
Because of the standard sizes and price difference, you will often see metal ready made picture frames used in art galleries and showrooms, because the standardized look also makes it more restful to the eye when used in a room full of artwork.
Artists use bubble pouches in several different ways. Transportation is a big reason for their use. Artists need to bring samples of their fine art photography or paintings in to a gallery owner in order to set up a showing at the gallery. For this reason, artists use bubble wrap pouches to protect the surface of their artwork during transportation.
Framed artwork can be kept safe by placing it inside a gallery pouch. Additional protection is available when you use picture frame protectors. Picture frame protectors are little cardboard corners that fit over each corner of your frame, giving additional protection from nicks and scrapes. When used with bubble pouches, they offer exceptional protection from damage.
When you sell your artwork, in many instances you will need to mail it to the new owner. This means that you have to find a way to ship your artwork so that it arrives in mint condition, and this is when bubble pouches are handy. This type of art protector comes with your choice of opening on the side or top, making it easier to insert the artwork into the pouch. The air bubbles between two sheets of heavy plastic making up the gallery pouch help ensure that the artwork arrives in excellent condition, even if the package is handled somewhat roughly.
