I watch Psych TV Show religiously every week. I know, I know – not everyone likes it. Yes, I know that the show can sometimes have bland and unpredictable mysteries that even my dog could solve, but hey, everyone has their flaws, right? And besides, a mystery is always a mystery to me.

So, if you still have some subtle, yet adverse reactions to my statement, go ahead – just go out and watch Monk, for all I care. For those who want to know more why I love Pscyh, then read on:

Corbin Bernsen. Who wouldn’t love a guy like that? I know, I know, he can be obnoxiously prudish and a pain in the neck to James Ronday (Shawn Spencer), but hey, it really adds some spice and zing to the show. Besides, I think it’s kind of cute how he shows his tender side, like taking bubble baths and giving Shawn some pep talks that don’t sound like pep-talks but are really one, if you do take a closer look.

Shawn + Jules= Sexual Tension. This is my favorite mathematical equation, and it really sizzles on the show. Have you ever watched Shawn make those silly advances to Jules? It’s funny, considering he looks so awkward compared to the usual charismatic and self-assured person he usually projects to everyone else.

The Gus supreme. Of course I would include Gus here. Who wouldn’t? He’s charming, he looks like he has ants in his pants all the time, he’s uncomfortable, and he’s phobic. Perfect guy, right? Oh, and yes, he’s perfect for Shawn, too. His stiff, upper-lip demeanor really complements Shawn’s larger-than-life persona to the tee.

Lassiter’s Softer Side. I know Lassiter can be a handful sometimes, but hey, have you seen him in one of his somber, gentler sides? It’s not really often, but there are moments where Lassiter lets a bit of his guard down and actually shows some feeling. Hallellujah to him. I remember in one episode where Lassiter was getting divorced and Shawn saw him at a bar drinking all by himself. Lassiter really looked so helpless I found it really adorable.

The Humor. Come on, it doesn’t take a genius to see that the show is so downright hilarious. I think each of the characters are funny in their own way. For instance, Shawn’s funny in a very theatrical and cocky way; Gus is funny because of his expressions and reactions; Jules’ humor comes from her charm, while Lassiter is funny because he is not funny at all. Get the picture?

Pineapple, pineapple, pineapple. Where’s that luscious tropical fruit? Try observing the show and you’ll see glimpses of it sprawled somewhere. It’s actually an insider’s joke among the cast members, so it’s quite thrilling to see the pineapple come up in really unexpected places.

Okay, so really, what DON’T I love about the Psych TV show? Nothing, really. If you still have some subtle, yet adverse reactions to my statement, go ahead – just go out and watch Monk again, for all I care.
