India has always been in the forefront for the good and most of the times for the bad. Recently with the ever increasing terrorist attacks, the vulnerability of the country has increased. The stock markets have crashed and the increasing oil prices have had an everlasting impression plunging the economy.
Well all this is only the tip of the iceberg, the worst is yet to come. All these drawbacks are going to effect every sector of life in India, and if this is yet not intimidating then think of the ever increasing population that will worsen the downward trend.
Although we second China in population, the country is adding an entire Australia each year, while literacy and girl child awareness are growing only at a few percentages, illiteracy, unemployment, poverty are increasing in leaps and bounds.
Yes, the government has taken steps to curb the population boom, but its effects will be visible only a few years down the line as and when the rules percolate to the rural regions of India. Where more hands means more income is the nature of thought everyone pursues. Notwithstanding that it affects the entire country and only leads to increase in poverty in that home and every home that thinks the same.
But what are we as the citizens of the country doing to stub the problem. We have to stand together and fight this predicament changing it from problem mode to solution mode. The simplest to help is to go to the homes of the uneducated and teach the lady of the house. You can make groups or join an NGO and cover different parts of the area so more and more people can be taught to read and write. Teach them the basic things like the Alphabets, how to write their name, how to sign, how to read and a bit of math. This way you are adding worth to the country and to yourself. Jai hind!
