Risks of ADHD and ADHD Treatment

 By: Mirriam Wright
ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a disorder that is characterized by hyperactivity, inattention and hyperactivity and impulsiveness of children. Kids with this disorder need more help than normal children and must be given proper attention and ADHD treatment as early as possible.

Children afflicted with this disease lack self-control and therefore can cause a lot of problems. They are good in interrupting conversations, invade other people's space, ask impertinent questions in class, make tactless remarks and ask overly personal questions. They tend to be moody and overacting and create and impression that they are disrespectful, weird and needy.

No matter how frustrating it is to have a child with this disorder, its symptoms can also have positive effects on them. Some of these positive traits associated with these kids are creativity; flexibility; enthusiasm and spontaneity; and energy and drive.

Children with this disorder can be imaginative and creative. They tend to daydream a lot and can become great problem-solvers with ample ideas. They maybe easily distracted but they can notice things others cannot see. They can be flexible because they consider a lot of options at once and are more open to ideas.

These kids are rarely boring. They are interested in a lot of things and have lively personalities. They are a lot of fun to be with. They are also extremely motivated and work hard to succeed. They are hardly distracted from a task that interests them especially if the activity is hands-on and interactive.

There are safe and effective ADHD treatment options. With the right support from parents, a child can get on track for success in all areas of life. Effective parenting and support, clear communication, consistency, rewards and a lot of love and encouragement can help a child with this disorder, or any kid for that matter.

In school, the child can be placed in a quiet and calm environment while they are trained to concentrate, pay attention and follow instructions. They can evaluate the child's behavior, determine his strengths and weaknesses and come up with creative strategies to let the child learn to explore and maximize his full capability.

Implementing a better diet can be a great help too; as well as exercise and modifying the home environment to minimize distractions. The parent can cooperate with a therapist or doctor to meet his specific needs. Having a child with ADHD is not as frustrating when early discovered and dealt with accordingly. After all, children are always lovable and innocent. They are every parents' gift from the heavens.
