There are many reasons that people love social networking today. Perhaps the main reason is that it is such a great tool to keep connected with the things that you normally don't have the time for. People use it to stay in touch with friends and family that do not live nearby. They use it to stay on top of the activities of certain groups or organizations and they even use it as a marketing tool to gain more clients and to publicly display their product for next to nothing if not free. Below are 7 vital steps in using the social networks as marketing tools.

Step one: Find a group You want to be sure that you find a group that has people with interests that pertain to your business and the products you offer or companies that are similar. This also goes for other activities and hobbies as well.

Step two: Take time to care for your Connections Keep on top of your relationships with your connections and be sure to be there to listen and offer advice. These key things will make you more memorable and keep them coming back for more.

Step three: Look into Auxiliary Groups You can find several groups that pertain directly to your business such as Antiques but you can branch out from that and look into group's regarding estates and collectibles.

Step four: Listen to others Keeping your eyes and ears open can be great in social networks. You can get great tips ad tricks just from listening to what others have to say. The same goes for you giving in return. Be there to give your advice to others, as this will build a good rapport.

Step five: Be open to sharing your connections Keep in mind that when you are in a social network, there are great opportunities to share good connections with others and get good sound ones in return. This can help you grow the connections you have to places you never dreamed of.

Step six: Be an active member Be sure to participate at regular times in the groups and try to go during the peak times to get maximum exposure. In order for the social networking to work, you must be active, you cannot just expect things to fall into place as you it back and do nothing.

Step seven: Be sure to also promote the group Keep bringing new members to join the groups. This will help you reach more and more people as each on brings on a friend. You may want to look into such things as the people that are on your mailing list as they are already familiar with you and your products so they can help give positive feed back to new members.
