Take That will play a record three nights at Glasgow's Hampden Park on June 19, 20, 21. Two years after their last visit to Scotland, the boys are set to relight Glasgow audiences' fire with stunning live performances showcasing songs from the brilliant The Circus album. Will this tour be as popular and exciting as the last?

Scottish Record

Take That are now Scottish record holders for the most sold out consecutive gigs at a Scottish stadium. All 50,000 tickets for each gig sold out in a few hours, helping the "Take That presents The Circus Live" become the fastest selling UK tour ever, beating even Michael Jackson's 1987 Bad tour.

Gary Barlow said* that they are "blown away" by their Scottish ticket sales and, now that they've made more money, the band plan to make the shows bigger and better than ever before.

The Glasgow Crowd

Glasgow concert audiences are loved by bands and artists all over the world because of their enthusiasm, the volume of their cheers, and their warmth. However, when Take That played Glasgow last in 2007, the fans turned up the heat.

During one song where the band walk through the crowd, some ecstatic concert-goers grabbed and pulled so hard that they drew blood, with Mark Owen coming away with a few scratches.

Howard Donald said in an interview* that the boys are a little fearful of returning in case they get ripped to pieces again. However, maybe they'll think twice about a crowd walk in Glasgow again.

Awesome Show

Take That are famous for their extravagant live shows with huge, dazzling light shows, dancers, costumes and pyrotechnics. The Circus tour promises to be their biggest and most exciting live show yet, according to Gary Barlow.

Fans may have had a sneak preview of a part of the show during the band's performance at the Brits. Singing their power ballad Greatest Day, the boys descended from a giant UFO with flashing lights, smoke and lasers. Many fans were puzzled however, by their choice of nerdy clothing and odd glasses.

Last tour the band had a second mini stage, which they arrived at via a bridge that was lowered from the roof. Given Howard's comments about their trepidation about coming to Glasgow again, perhaps they won't want to that close to the crowd again.

Take That might started out as a boy band. They're older now - and technically not a boy band any more - and more experienced songwriters and performers and always give their growing army of fans exactly what they want.
