There is a certain category among the journalists that people are even sometimes reluctant to call journalists, namely the paparazzi, who work in the celebrity business. Their main occupation is to get pictures of celebrities. Their target is to take pictures of celebrities in their daily life, shopping, out on a date, walking their dogs, pictures of celebrities walking on the red carpet at ceremonies, wearing the latest designer clothes, pictures of celebrities in trouble, drinking or eating too much, pictures of celebrities naked if possible.

The most important thing in the business of celebrity clips is to get the latest pictures of celebrities. In the end it's all about money. The latest pictures of celebrities can bring enormous amounts of money, while just regular pictures of celebrities may lead you nowhere. The business of the latest celebrity clips might have even got out of hand. Good celebrity clips may end up being bought for enormous amounts of money, even millions. You may end up with good celebrity clips that cost as much as famous paintings do. You may get pictures of celebrities the size of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at the cost of a Rembrandt. That can be truly outrageous.

Does it make sense that celebrity clips cost as much as they do? Your response can be a negative one. However, there are many reasons why people are paying so much money for the latest celebrity clips. The people who buy celebrity clips usually work for specific types of magazines - the ones that keep us in touch with the lives of singers and movie stars, the ones that write about every little intimate detail and also want to illustrate the stories with the latest celebrity clips. Okay, but why are these magazines publishing these celebrity pictures in the first place, why are the readers asking for the latest celebrity clips?

They do so because people suffer from escapism. People want to see the latest celebrity clips and imagine that they are there. They want to imagine they could one day be the subject of such celebrity pictures. They look for the latest pictures of celebrities to get an idea about what to wear and how to behave so that they can become just like the stars they so much admire. They want to escape their own misery by living the life of the other people. They want to live the life of the rich and famous.

They will take a good look at the celebrity clips and then start discussing. They will analyze every little detail in the celebrity clips. They will look at the clothes worn by the subjects of the celebrity clips. They will look at the haircuts. They will look at the attitude of the people in the celebrity clips. They need everything to give them a subject for discussion.

Apart from the regular readers of magazines, you will get another category of people that really pay attention to the details of the celebrity clips. It is the people who make a living from analyzing the pictures of celebrities. Such people will, for example, write entire columns about fashion and discuss on the basis of the pictures of celebrities without having ever seen the persons in real life. Whether those celebrities look good or not, whether they should wear what they are wearing or not is none of their business. Yet they make it their business and nose around. They look at the pictures of celebrities and they just try to make out whether the people depicted are happy or not. They pretend to be reading the whole story of someone's life in these pictures of celebrities. They make a living off false impressions.

That is why the latest celebrity clips are such a lucrative business. So many people make a profit from them: the people who take the celebrity clips, like the paparazzi, those who publish the celebrity clips in their magazines and then sell the magazines to a hungry public and the "critics" who just make a living from analyzing the latest celebrity clips.

Indeed, it remains to be discussed whether celebrity clips deserve as much attention as they get, whether so much money should be in the business of pictures of celebrities or not. On the one hand, you can say that money should be invested to publish high quality press that proposes to the readers more serious subjects which further their understanding of the world. Money should be spent on research and for the promotion of new talented authors. On the other hand, the private business of the press will never strike out the celebrity clips which bring so much public. And after all, they are giving the readers what they want. At the end of a hard day of work it is perhaps just that people should have access to light-hearted entertainment and the easiest way to get this is to look at the latest celebrity clips. Finally, who has the authority to judge such issues?
