The One Problem I Had With A Tempurpedic Mattress

In 1992 Tempurpedic mattresses were imported into the US by CEO Bob Trussell from Sweden where they were first made out of special viscoelastic (temperature sensitive) foam that was originally invented by NASA to use in their space program and perfected in Sweden over a decade of research.

Trussell tried one of the mattresses and fell in love with it and became the exclusive US distributor of the Tempurpedic foam mattress and began selling them through magazine and TV ads and specialty stores like Brookstone's with sales growing by 49% per year for the first 10 years of the company's existence.

I was a happy user of their Tempurpedic pillow and after over 12 years of use it still feels like new. But, the mattress was a different story as they were way out of my price range.

Well, about 8 years ago we needed a new mattress and to make a long story short my wife and I tried two traditional mattresses and one name brand air mattress over a period of several years before we gave up and took Tempurpedic up on their "try it at home" offer.

At first it was strange feeling sinking down into the mattress and it seemed more comfortable than the other mattresses but the thing we both noticed was we were waking up with backaches that lasted for a couple of hours every morning.

After sleeping on it for a few weeks I called Tempurpedic and I was told that if you sleep or your side you most likely will have a backache in the morning because you sleep so sound you don't roll over much.

Great I thought, we still haven't found a good nights sleep but the customer service rep said the aches would go away after a few weeks. For me that wasn't true, it took several months but I have to tell you that it was worth the wait because now we sleep great and have been for years thanks to the Tempurpedic mattress.

What's extra nice is that you don't have to flip it, it's hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant (yuk). And, it lasts for 20 years so if you look at it that way it's no more expensive than a normal mattress and box spring set as they usually don't last nearly that long.

In the summer it's a little softer than I like it but it's still great and in the winter it's firmer (we keep the house cool at night) but after a couple of minutes you just seem to melt into the bed and it feels wonderful.

Be forewarned if you are thinking of buying a foam mattress as not all foam is created equal. Cheaper foam can be both too soft in summers and too hard in winters. There's a reason good foam costs more so be sure and check out the type of foam used in the mattress you are considering.

Because of the popularity of the Tempurpedic mattress many retail stores now carry them so it can be as easy as driving to your favorite furniture store to try one out which is something I heartily recommend you do.

Convertible sofas? When I first heard about these furniture wonders of the modern world, I honestly didn't know what to make of it. I knew that a convertible is a type of car. I get it that there is no roof and all that. I also know what a sofa is. A couch, right? But somehow, putting the two words together just didn't register anything in my head. But I'm a relatively bright person, so before long I had it all figured out. Convertible didn't refer to something not having a top, but to something that can "convert" from one thing to another. See the light coming on?
Okay, I admit, sectional sofas may not the most exciting topic to read about. They don't do anything. They just sit there. And while they may just sit there, they at least they do it with style. They are comfortable, look great, can be moved around to suit our individual tastes and preferences, have built-in amenities, and come in an amazing array of fabrics, leathers, and other coverings. Let's take a brief look at the evolution of sofas generally, and see if there is a place for sectional sofas, and you many discover that they are more exciting than first appears to the casual observer.
The history of desks is long and varied. Desks have been used as both functional pieces of furniture by the working class and monks and decorative pieces used by royalty themselves and their clerks. As desks have evolved, they have done so both to increase function and to be pleasing to the eye. But the most recent and newest style of desk, for which there was no use 30 years ago, is the computer desk. Using a desk for a computer instead of clerical purposes has called for a lot of design modifications. Let's face it, we do not need a lot of small cubby holes and paper slots anymore.
Rustic teak furniture that is designed specifically for the outdoors looks great and it is also exceedingly purposeful. The rustic touch definitely adds to the whole look of your teak outdoor furniture, thus helping you feeling closer to the nature and enjoying all the comforts of your home outdoors.
A good rocking chair cushion can add a load of extra comfort to your favorite rocking chair. The gentle rocking motion meant to calm the restless mind and body is enhanced by a cushion which will take some of the hardness of the wood away. You can purchase cushions which are simple tie back chair pads, since they will tie onto the back support bars of the rocking chair, or you can experiment with some of the cushions which are made specifically for them.
