The Problems That Can Come Up Without Insurance

 By: Andrew Ferno
This may sound like a very bold statement and perhaps many people out there don?t even believe that it?s true. If you are living a life without health insurance, life insurance, homeowners insurance or car insurance then you may find out that this statement is not so far from the truth.

Living without health insurance is not cost effective, it is not budget conscious, it is foolishness. With the sky rocketing cost of medical care throughout the United States and individual living without basic health insurance is positioning themselves for bankruptcy. Take a routine office visit to you family physician. True the office call will only cost you roughly $50 which most of us can handle but what if additional tests are needed; those can run easily into the thousands. Furthermore, if a hospital stay is required and god forbid surgeries then you are talking serious money, maybe even into the hundreds of thousands. Unless you are a member of the ultra-independently wealthy, then the heavy costs of these procedures will inevitably lead to financial ruin. It is easy to see that a life without health insurance is not only crazy but has the potential to ruin you for years if not decades to come.

Health insurance is not the only form of insurance that is quickly becoming mandatory in today's society. Homeowner's insurance and more specifically auto insurance are mandated by state law in most of the 50 states. Getting caught driving without auto insurance not only leads to fines and penalties but it can invariably lead to a suspended licenses and even criminal charges. Although the prospect of ever needing homeowner's insurance is remote, it only takes on isolated event, a random break-in, a hundred year old tree being uprooted in a storm; to cause immense damage and leave the homeowner struggling to cope with the idea of paying for these repairs out of pocket.

Going through life without Life Insurance most likely will not impact you directly. However, it is setting your family and descendants up for financial misery. The current cost of burying a loved one can easily cross several thousands of dollars. Most of us don't have that kind of money laying around. Life Insurance can protect your loved ones and ensure they have the funds necessary to take care of these important issues. Not having life insurance places the survivors of a loved one in a very precarious situation.

Living without the protection of insurance leaves little room for error. Instead of enjoying the pleasantries of life and your family and friends you are constantly worried. You are worried about the slight twinge of pain in your chest, is it something serious?; you are worried about the drive home and the road block you heard about on the radio. Living without insurance condemns someone to a life of self-doubt and anxiety. We all live our lives by odds every day. Each time we get into our cars, board an airplane or walk across the street there are statistics dictating the probability of something happening. Most of the time these odds are fairly low, however it takes only one incident, one probable event to change our lives and without insurance it is not change for the better.
