However, there are many other causes or medical conditions related to the carpal tunnel syndrome. If we deeply study the wrist, we find carpal tunnel crowded with the median nerve, blood vessels and tendons (flex our finger pass). The above given medical conditions and the repetitive hands movement cause these tendons to swell. The blood flow decreases and eventually the median nerves compresses. A little careless attitude can cause severe damage to nerves. Remember prevention is always better than treatment. Follow these tips to prevent this syndrome.

Correct Typing Techniques

Many times people don't know about the skills and techniques to use the keyboard correctly. That will cause carpal tunnel syndrome due to extra pressure on the wrist and hand. It is convenient to use wrist-rest to support your wrists while using keyboard. Also you can use a mouse paw to level your hand position with mouse. This will help to relieve strain.

Grip Things Rightly

The right grip is to hold things with entire hand instead of holding things with thumb, index or middle finger. They put extra stress on joints. Try to make use of your whole hand instead of few fingers or thumb.

Give Rest to Your Hands

It is important to give your hands rest for sometime in between long working hours, especially if you are doing repetitive work or using jackhammer (vibrating tools) etc.

Reduce Weight

If you have gained some extra weight, that might cause the nerves to compress in the wrist. So try to lose weight and live a healthy life.

Proper Sleeping Position

Pains and illness usually get immense at night times. Same is the case with carpal tunnel syndrome. When you lay down the fluid accumulates in the wrist. Avoid sleeping with your pressed under your body or push it under the pillow.

Keep Yourself Fit

Make exercise a habit. It will keep you fit and healthy. Exercise improves the circulation system.

Always be cautious about your health. There is nothing without health. Stay attentive to the early symptoms. Don't ignore them. Consult your doctor if necessary.
