New findings in drug follicle hair testing are leading employers, high school counselors and social workers to use hair alcohol testing as a leading form of testing people for alcohol abuse. The discovery is easily the least invasive form of substance abuse testing on the market compared to urine alcohol testing, saliva or other forms of blood alcohol testing, like breath or sweat.

How Alcohol Hair Testing Works
If a person has been asked to give a hair sample, a certified nurse will make an appointment to come to the person’s home or place of work or school if a clinic is not available. Then a small sample is taken from the base of the head and is then either shipped or delivered to the laboratory where several tests will be performed to see if certain markers show up on the hair shaft. These special markers only appear if the person has been drinking or abusing drugs. The uniqueness about the test is that, for a long time, drug hair testing was available, but there was no such test that was available to show alcohol use over a longer period of time. Now, using a special test called EtG alcohol testing, this test shows a history of abuse instead of hours or at most- a couple days like urine alcohol testing would. Actually, EtG testing can prove up to 12 months of alcohol abuse- which makes this test so unique to employers of certain high profile or mentally stable positions like surgeons, pilots and childcare.

Many times this alcohol detection drug service testing will be combined with other forms, such as urine alcohol testing or questionnaires and references from family or previous jobs to get an overall assessment. The cost of hair alcohol testing may be slightly higher than a urine sample test but the results far outweigh the latter. Wouldn’t you choose a specialized business that was “truly” substance abuse free over one that didn’t test their employees?

So perhaps, when you are applying for your next job or have to be screened for an athletic sport, they may not be asking you to go into the bathroom with a little cup, they may ask you to remove your hat.

The common image for trauma and traumatic experiences usually encompasses the negative extremes of life. Rape, childhood abuse, war, mass destruction, and natural disasters are all seen as the causes of trauma. They are valid causes, to be sure, but they are not the only reasons. Certainly, they are the ones that have cast the greatest shadow over the collective popular consciousness, with things like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) becoming more and more common knowledge.
It is normal for children to sense fear about certain events or circumstances like being in a school play, passing a growling dog, or sleeping in the dark. But more often than not, these fears are exaggerated and even irrational. Some children can develop a very serious irrational fear that can be clinically considered as phobia. In medical terms, phobia refers to a type of anxiety disorder. It is a strong, irrational fear of something that poses little or no apparent danger. This is form of fear does not go away as easily as the more common types of fear like seeing a monster in a horror movie. If a child has a phobia, his or her sense of security and well-being is affected.
Life without emotions is like an empty canvass. Our life should have some color once in a while, or else life would be completely dull and boring. Emotions are so important in daily life. For that reason, human emotions have been the object of research and study for thousands of years. What has changed over the years has been the general approach to this investigation. For many years, researchers in psychology focused on what seemed to be rational and what could be directly observed through physiology. Hence, emotion was neglected as it was seen as more part of mind than body.
Relationships with other people can often play the role of "bread and butter" in a person's life. As social creatures, human beings are drawn to one another for a variety of biological and psychological reasons. It is an integral component of a person's psychological development and emotional stability. However, the benefits are not entirely absolute. It is possible for people with extreme social misgivings, such as loners and hermits, to live without too much damage to their mental health. The isolation gets to you after a while, but there's nothing really too fractured up there.
Sleep is an integral component of human existence, such that without sleep, you eventually die. There isn't a whole lot that people understand about how sleep works, or how it manages to do what it does for the body. Humans simply have an instinctive understanding that sleep is an important part of their lives and it just isn't a good idea to cut down on it so much. However, trouble getting enough sleep is a problem that is becoming increasingly common in the modern world, as shown by the statistics of how many people are buying sleeping pills. This is, of course, far from being a recent problem.
