Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone at any time, no matter their age or health status. Schools need to be prepared to respond to cardiac events in the same way that they are able to provide emergency care for cuts, contusions, and burns. With early defibrillation through an on-site AED, the chances that a student or faculty member will survive a cardiac emergency are higher. It’s better to take immediate action while waiting 5-10 minutes for an emergency response team to arrive. According to studies, once a sudden cardiac arrest has occurred, survival rates decrease 7-10% with each passing minute without defibrillation.

A defibrillator is particularly important to have on-hand during school sporting events and during practice drills. During these times younger individuals are most likely to need emergency care, and the AED will only enhance the ability to respond in times of the greatest need.

Additionally, many times during natural disasters schools are sought out as emergency shelters. Because schools may so often encounter medical emergencies, it’s wise to not only have an AED on the premises, but also to have certain individuals who are trained to use an AED device. Many schools have implemented the use of a defibrillator as part of their first aid program, and some states are requiring the placement of AEDs. AEDs and AED accessories can be purchased from http:www.aedmasters.com. Schools should always check within their local districts and cities to learn about these laws. Having this life-saving device available when someone may need it the most can be extremely impacting!

As a physician, there are many instances when you might not be able to bring your patients into your office for medical digital imaging. Elderly patients, those who are immobile, as well as professional athletes, sailors on ships, physicians working in prisons or military field hospitals, as well as veterinarians find that they have to take their digital images more often than not out in the field. Being able to offer your patients that type of flexibility makes it easier to provide them with the best of care, which is why many medical facilities find that they have a need for portable xray machines.
