It is not news that the global economy at large is hurting. Whether you're in the United States or around the world, the prolonged economic slump is something that's no surprise to millions of people today. However, what might come as a surprise to some people, is not a surprise once you settle in and think about it. A slumping economy could be directly related with a slumping posture. What I mean to illustrate is that the productivity of workers with back pain could be hurting the economy due to lack of motivation and work effort output due to chronic or severe pain in the back. That's right, back pain and economy walk hand in hand.

When shin pain occurs during running, the condition is commonly referred to as Shin Splints. However, sports medicine professionals refrain from using the term since it can be misleading. People often assume that shin pain and 'Shin Splint' are synonymous terms. However, both may actually be mere indicators of a variety of other conditions. Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome is one of the prevalent skin conditions which have been referred to as 'Shin Splints'.
One of the most common problems among adults is back pain. Many experience back pain caused by the daily routines such as spending too much time sitting while at work, or when driving for a long period of time. Lifting heavy furnitures while cleaning up at home, working in the garden, or lifting weights in the gym can also cause back pain. These activities can sometimes put so much pressure and weight on your back causing low back injuries such as muscle strain or spasm, sprain of ligaments, joint problems, or slipped disk.
You spent your "9 to 5" mostly at the office. Hunched over in some small cubicle, you try to beat the deadlines while enduring the pain in your neck, in your back, and just about every other part of your tired body. Included in your everyday complaint list is the stiffening right shoulder and the aching wrists that have become so twisted after using the old-style keyboard. Your eyes always feel as if they are about to pop out or explode due to the sheer number of hours that you have worked in front of that glaring flat screen monitor. And at the end of the day, you always ask yourself, "Can I still do this all over again tomorrow?"
Back pain is one thing most likely to elicit a twinge of sympathy from the hardest of hearts. It is estimated that every person in the world will suffer from it in his/her lifetime - mild to serious, chronic or temporary. You could get an attack at any point along the spine, especially the lower back area which takes on the maximum weight and stress. Most common causes: strain or bruising of muscles; sprain or injury to ligaments; and spasms when the injured muscle knots up as part of the body's attempt to immobilize it to prevent further injury.
The sight of piercing needles through the skin in specific areas of the body may appear to be painful, but acupuncture is actually an ancient form of pain relief treatment that improves the flow of energy throughout the body. Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago and is still being practiced until now. The National Institutes of Health has sponsored several studies on the effects of acupuncture as pain relief treatment for conditions such as arthritis and other ailments that produce chronic pain.

It isn't exactly a rare scenario. A man, typically middle-aged, is seen busily working on something inside the house on a Saturday morning. The suddenly, he bends to pick up a tool from the floor. Earlier, he broke into a sweat while carrying sacks of cement and bricks that he'll use to re-do the driveway. As he rises, he immediately senses the sharp pain on his waist and lower back. Not as young as he used to be, he ends up almost immobile from the waist down after hurting his back while doing something as ordinary as picking up an object from the floor. This scene is so common that it is even used as a common device in t.v. situation comedies and cartoons.
