Menopause is a normal and natural progression in a woman's life. Her personality and the habits of her entire life will be magnified during this change of life. The woman will realize that her biological "clock" and her ability to bear children have caught up with her.
Menopause is the cessation of a woman's monthly blood flow. If a woman has all of her reproductive organs, and has not experienced menstrual flow for 12 consecutive months, she is menopausal. Except in the case of surgery, chemotherapy or specific medical conditions that interfere with regular hormonal functions, menopause occurs at the end of a process, which may last from months to years.

Most women experience the menopause at around fifty years old. At this time a woman stops ovulating and ceases to have a monthly menstrual cycle. For every woman, this is the time when the production of estrogen decreases and hormonal changes occur which can affect her physically, mentally and emotionally.
Menopause brings a variety of changes in a woman's life. Some of the organs in a woman's body will undergo transitions during these periods. These transitions may result into slow brain activity, memory lapses, and mood swings.

Unfortunately, only a few menopausal women chose to take hormone replacement because they are concerned about the risks and side effects.
Nowadays, many women fear any label that contains the word "menopause", because it is often presented as a disease or a condition associated with old age. Even though women are living longer than ever before, the age of natural menopause hasn't changed much over the past few centuries. It is still 51.4 years. The fastest-growing age group in America today is the 100-plus-year-olds and it becomes clear that menopause is merely the next phase in a long life, complete with its benefits and its challenges.
