You are almost at the end of your pregnancy period. It is the time when you need to prepare yourself for any critical situation. It is essential to keep your hospital bag ready beforehand and don't forget to keep all the important information with you whenever you are away from home like important telephone numbers, money, address book, doctor or midwife's number etc. These all things become handy in undesirable situations.
So, you are very near to the birth time as you have already spent 34 weeks of pregnancy and you are not far away. It is now the time to get ready for the coming baby. Remember, last weeks are even more vital for you and your baby so you have no margin of error. Keep yourself active and prepared to face labor at any time in the coming weeks. Almost all the organs of your baby are developed now with an exclusion of lungs. They are still developing and in last phase of their development. The growth of lungs is very vital as he has to breathe on his own after birth with any medical facility.
By this time, you have gone through over half of the period of your pregnancy. The growth of your baby is underway and both you and your baby are now aware of each other presence. He observes whatever you do and listen whatever you speak, and similarly, you feel the movements made by him in the uterus such as scratching, kicking, stretching etc. You can massage your abdomen in order to provide comfort to your baby.

Now you are in your 27th week, this is a stage when your baby is roughly weigh about 1 kilogram and positioning at bottom-down position (transverse position) in the uterus. But from now on, he can take the head-down position at any time to prepare himself for the birth; however, in some women, the baby takes the head-down position in the last few weeks of pregnancy. He is still developing and his development keeps going till the birth time and even after his birth. His soft, brittle bones are now becoming harder and stronger.
At the 8th week of pregnancy, the embryo becomes the size of an orange. During this week, you can have the symptoms like acne, tender, swollen breasts, nausea, and extreme fatigue. You will keep having the common problems of pregnancy such as indigestion and bloating. Slow digestive process is the major cause behind these problems. This slow digestion process naturally permits the bloodstreams to absorb maximum amount of nutrients which are necessary for you and for your baby's growth. At this stage, you need to take small frequent meals and make sure that you chew the food well as this will ease the digestion process.
By the start of 6th week, you may be facing some terrible morning sickness. At this stage, almost one third of the pregnant women face nausea. This all happens because of the rapid hormonal changes that are occurring in your body and you are not aware of them. At this stage, estrogen level in your body is quite high which can also cause these problems. However, these problems don't last long and disappear with the time.
So, you have passed the initial weeks of pregnancy now. The ovulation and fertilization process have been completed now and the growth of your baby will commence now. It is the time to reconsider your diet plan as your health means having a healthy pregnancy. When you reach the 4th week of pregnancy, you may begin to experience some symptoms such as missed period, light cramping, poor appetite, headaches, bloating, a feeling of fullness, frequent urination, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and breast tenderness.
