Many passengers have no clear information as to how much luggage they are allowed to carry while traveling in the Indian railway. There are three slabs for the allowed goods limit. They are the Free Allowance, Marginal Allowance, and Maximum Quantity Permitted.
For emergency passengers, the tatkal reservation of the Indian railway is a boon. This scheme is available in all routes and in all trains. Though earlier special trains were arranged for the tatkal scheme, now a few coaches are reserved in express trains for the facility. In order to book under this scheme, you need to apply minimum 2 days in advance. Photo ID is compulsory for booking as well as during journey. You will have to pay higher rate than the ordinary for travel under tatkal scheme.
