This is a fabulous walk, not least because it takes in a good pub halfway round! We park near St Bega's church which is a lovely little church, built on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake over 900 years ago. To get to St Bega's, follow the A591 from Keswick (where you will find several Keswick cottages) towards Bassenthwaite. Carry on for about 4 miles and then turn left down a small single tracked road (signed Bassenthwaite Lake and Scarness).

Its spring break once again and finally, I got an invitation from a friend who wants me to come to Long beach and spend a few days there to have some fun in the sun. Of course, I said yes. It was a once in a lifetime chance and we decided to go to Long beach with our used Volkswagen golf.

Overall the Jorvik Viking Centre is a great Yorkshire family day out. It caters for everyone and you will spend your day being entertained, educated and bewildered over the amount of things to see, smell, do, touch and hear.

The Forest of Dean is one of England's few remaining ancient woodlands and well worth discovering on a Gloucestershire cottage holiday. 'The Forest' as it is known locally has a distinct cultural identity situated on high land between the Severn and Wye valleys in south-west England. It is composed of mixed woodland, predominantly oak although beech is also common and sweet chestnut has grown here for many centuries.

Oh my gosh! It was so beautiful you cross so much blue, green waters and Cuba too. It took four hours in the plane, the time was behind eastern standard time. So it seem like 3 hours. When we arrived at the airport, certain parts of their airport was not air conditioned. It was my first time out of the country and we could tell we were in another country. They showed everyone which way to go through customs. My husband and I were shocked that there was no air conditioning. However, the workers were very pleasant to us. This was in 1995, they had a group of woman dressed colorfully singing like the commercial "Come to Jamaica". That did it for me.

My latest journey took me to Moscow; and although I did, subconsciously, relive the negative feelings that everyone in the US felt about the country back in the late 70’s and 80’s (I am old enough to remember, although young enough to make it to any meaningful sense of it) I was elated for the opportunity to explore and soak in the culture – of both the people and the country as a whole.

She talked about it; she dreamed about it, she never let it go. This was how a friend of mine regarded her fear of coming across a bear when we would go hiking in the wilderness areas of Idaho. Her character is strong in all other ways. She is kind, hard working, intelligent, prosperous and loving. But when the word "bear" crosses those ears of hers, she turns to Jell-O. In other words, her life is somewhat Un-Bear-Able! Read this story about an adventure my friend and I had this last spring.

In December 2007 our family enjoyed an amazing holiday ski vacation. The trip included an overnight Amtrak train ride from Seattle to Whitefish, MT (just over 13 hours) and five days of skiing at the Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly known as Big Mountain Resort---not to be confused with Big Sky Resort).
