DeVry is fine choice. They are a nationally recognized school. I've worked for 2 very very large global software companies whose names you would know. Both hired developers from DeVry.

Right out of school, with that degree, you could get a job as a software developer / software engineer / programmer / programmer analyst. At the entry level the are all the same job. Later in your career you could pursue opportunites as a software acrhitect, team leader, project manager, etc.

Software developement is a GREAT avenue to pursue. There are few other jobs in America where you can work 9 to 5 and potentially earn $100K+ with just a bachelors degree. It is interesting and challenging. Yes, there are definitely $100k+ jobs if you are talented, keep learning and bring a lot of experience to the table.

The degree simply gives you the ability to get your foot in the door. And that's all you need. Once you hit the job market very very few employers care what degree you have or what school you earned it at. If you do well in school & learn your stuff you'll have no issues finding a job.

It is ALL about the skill set & experience. I cannot stress that enough.

You can expect to graduate with a starting salary averaging $35 to $50k depending on location, job market & other knowledge you bring. For example, my current employer specializes in building software for the pharmaceutical sales industry. You have sales experience whihc means you have special experience in some given market. you may or may not be able to leverage the knowledge in your software career.

You've seleted a good program at a good school. Feel free to email / IM if you have more specific questions. Good luck!
