Originally, rhinestones were rock crystals gathered from the river Rhine. The availability was greatly increased around 1775 when the Georg Friedrich Strass imitates diamonds by coating the glass with metal powder. Hence, rhinestones are called paste or diamante and a diamond simulant made from rock crystal, glass or acrylic. The Zugspitze is with 2962 meters above sea level the highest mountain in Germany. It is located south of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and on its west summit is the boundary between Germany and Austria. To the south of the mountain, the Zugspitze is followed by a karst plateau with numerous caves. On the flanks of the Zugspitze, there are three glaciers, including the two largest in Germany: the Northern Schneefernerhaus a 30.7 hectare of Höllental addition of 24.7 hectares, also of Southern Schneefernerhaus with 8.4 hectares. The FW 190s appearance in the skies over France in early 1941 was a rude shock to the Allies, as it was clearly superior to any other plane.
