Pleasure voyages have always been an indispensable part of the lives of elites. A booming industry, as far as tourism is concerned, today cruising has grown exponentially as the world has seen a rapid growth in the number of cruise liners. Operating mostly on routes that return passengers to their originating port.

The history of cruise goes back to the year 1990, when the first vessel Prinzessin Victoria Luise, was built by Albert Ballin. Then on there was constant evolution, that led to one of the most comfortable cruising experience, Titanic. Though Titanic failed to fulfill the aim in its very first voyage, but there was no stopping. Some technological advance gave birth to the Jet age, that caters to intercontinental travellers. Since then the traditional way of cruising went into a decline, which was revived during 1990's. Pacific Princess, did much to raise awareness of cruises as a vacation option for ordinary people in the United States. Today, several hundred cruise ships, some carrying over 3,000 passengers and measuring over 120,000 gross tons, ply routes worldwide

Cruising is also gaining immense celebrity in India as well. Sailing is like spinning a dreamy rhapsody on a floating paradise, along the rustic waterscapes. The hottest destination of cruising in India is in Andaman and Nicobar islands. See the natures marvels along with endless flora and fauna. Another favored destination is Lakshadweep islands where people enjoy the lagoons and the sun drenched sand and swaying palms. Another satiating cruising destination is the Kerala backwaters. This cruise in famous all over the world for the nature's infinite marvels.

The exotic cruising experience in India will be in Assam on the river Brahamaputra where the cruiser enjoy the tea gardens. The most important and much camouflaged cruising experience can be enjoyed on Dal Lake in Jammu and Kashmir. Here this experience is said to be the one that poets, kings and travellers eulogized, ensconced in a houseboat on the famed Dal lake in Srinagar. The endless stretch of nature on that Dal lake casts a spell on the paradisaical land of Kashmir. The last but not the least is the cruise experience on Elephanta in Mumbai. The transition from the cacophony of the metro to the soothing glide across the Arabian Sea, this is a very captivating cruise. The main attraction of the rock cut caves at Elephants is a welcome surprise to all those who enjoy cruising here.
