It is always very important to look out for any digital photography hints and tips. Some people can literraly take fabulous photographs without really tyring, but the majority of us nee whatever help we can get to make our photographs look professional.

It may appear daunting to think that you can, quite easily take on board a few of the professional photgraphers digital photography tips and hints to turn your photographs into those of a pro. The truth is, you can and it does not take much.

Portraits

The key to taking better portrait photographs and the number one digital photography tips and hints is that of keeping things simple. You do however need to plan what you are doing.

If you are going to take a photograph of a couple as a portrait, don't just get them to face the camera and hope for the best. Try to get them to look at each other, or get one to give the other a 'playful' kiss on the cheek.

This also applies to family portraits. One of the best digital photography tips and hints is to have one of the parents swinging their child above their head in a playful manner. Or try mom and dad to hold the childs hand as they walk towards you. These tips and hints will ensure that the photograph appears natural and will produce excellent results.

If you are like me and really enjoy taking pictures when you're on vacation or traveling, you may wonder how to make these professional landscape photographs. There are some very quick and easy ways to do this.

First, take a closer look at what you are about to take a photograph of before you take the picture. One of the best digital photography tips and hints is to look at the colors. If it is a bright blue lake against a blue sky, then there may be too much blue! Wait just a short while, or come back when the sun is about to set and snap a photo of the sunset against the blue lake



Good digital photography tips and hints for landscapes and any other type of photographs include being aware of how the same color is going to actually translate on a photo, regardless of how breathtaking it may be in person.

If you are going to take a photo of the atumn foliage, avoid a picture of just a bunch of trees all at the same height. Again, it will probably resultt in just a jumble of all the same colors. Adjust your angle so as to get a hill or part of a field in the picture so as to break up all that color.

Remember to always try different angles when taking your photos. It may be your only chance to capture that picture, so makje it your best. The top digital photography tips and hints are to:

Move your main subject to the right or to the left in order to break up the monotony of a straight shot.

Always be aware of the lighting around your subject as well; try it from behind, above, or below in order to get the best pose and shot.

From my Sausalito studio I can catch glimpses of the Blue Angels as they make their practice runs for Fleet Week. Whenever they fly overhead I have this vague sense of guilt that I am not out there photographing them. Last year at this time I decided that I would figure out something I could do with them for stock images.

I met a designer at a party this weekend. He says he buys a lot of stock photography…and always at iStockphoto. This brings up for me a continuing concern. By not being in the Microstock world, there are a ton of buyers who are not seeing my images.
Do you place enough importance on your keywords? If you do your own key wording do you spend enough time on the task? If your agency handles it do you check on them? I recently had an image go up on Getty's site; An image of an impossible golfing green. In the picture is a small grassy area perched atop a steep rock formation on the jagged California coastline.
One photographer I know tracks his sales closely because he primarily wants to know which models are selling best. In his experience the model makes or breaks the shoot. Another photographer has found that most of his sales come from scenic locations that he shoots throughout the world.
