Web Traffic Update As At August 31st 2006
In my previous web traffic update, I mentioned that the web traffic in terms of unique visitors for the month of July 2006 was at an all time high. For last month, August 2006, it was even higher.
The Bottomline: Web Traffic in terms of unique visitors for the month ending August 31st increased by a whopping 51.7% over the preceding month’s.
Two main factors contributed to this dramatic increase:
1. Google reclaimed the top spot from Yahoo in sending us the most web visitors. Not only has it reclaimed the top spot, it also increased the number of unique visitors by 207.4% vis-a-vis July 2006’s.
Google was the leader from the time we started operations in Oct. 2005 to Jan. 2006. It was overtaken by Yahoo in Feb. 2006 until July 2006. With effect from Aug. 2006, it reclaimed its leadership position.
(As an aside, Google has already pulled off from the pack and left the rest of the Search Engines in the dust insofar as the first half of this month, i.e. Sep. 2006, is concern.)
Yahoo continued to be strong and the number of web visitors it sent us had also increased. As regards MSN, the increase in web traffic was marginal.
2. Effects of the Market Development Strategy for ArticleSphere.com which I executed a couple of weeks’ ago. This strategy resulted in visitors accessing the Site from 23 additional countries for the first time. The penetration of existing markets had also increased overall.
In addition to the increase in website vistiors, ArticleSphere.com had also become stickier as visitors were staying longer at the Site. The number of Searches increased by 120.5%, and the Site continued to be heavily bookmarked.
The Email To Your Friends feature (for emailing articles to friends) was accessed four thousand six hundred and thirty-six (4636) times whilst the Publish On Your Websites feature (for web visitors to reprint articles on their own websites/blogs/ezines) was accessed four thousand four hundred and seventy-seven (4477) times.

Wow, that’s a good increase of unique visitors. For small traffic it is ok, but for a high traffic it is impressive!Good work!
