Watching TV Online - A Recent Phenomenon Among Youths
Watching TV online has become a recent phenomenon among native digital natives, regardless of whether it is from uploaded video clips on independent video sites or streaming videos from broadcasters’ websites.
This phenomenon can be attributed, to a large extent, to YouTube which is replacing the “boob tube” to a certain extent. More and more youths today are surfing the Internet, chatting with friends via instant messengers and watching TV programs on their computers.
This rising trend among youths is easy to understand…
As opposed to broadcast TV, watching TV online is fuss-free. As long as you have a good Internet connection, you can catch shows wherever and whenever you want. Furthermore, most of the videos are free to watch.
The fact that major broadcasters in the US and Britain now offer full episodes of their shows online for free is a case in point of this rising huge worldwide trend.
If this rising trend is sustainable, the day might come when we no longer have to be slaves to the ‘goggle box’.
