  • Learn Spanish On Line - Easy As One, Two, Three - I live in Caracas, Venezuela and spend my entire day speaking in English. Sounds bizarre right; I live in a Spanish speaking country and speak English all day. Well as an English teacher it is my job and one I don't really mind.
  • Learn Spanish Online - Amazingly Simple - The invention of the internet has made everything easier right? You can now shop online, send letters, find information at the drop of a hat, even find your house in satellite pictures on Google Earth.
  • Learn Spanish On The Internet -It Couldn't Be Easier - Like just about anything these days learning Spanish is a service that can be found on the internet. Nowadays it is possible to order just about anything you want on the internet, so much so that you could probably live a very long time without ever having to leave your house or interact with another human being. How you can learn a language this way though is lost on me. I guess it is possible to memorize words and grammar rules.
  • How To Learn Spanish - It's A Cinch... - How to learn Spanish? As I am sure you know learning a foreign language is not an easy task unless you are one of those people with an "ear for language", something I never really understood. There are many available options.
  • Learn Spanish - Quick And Easy - The first thing I discovered upon my arrival in Caracas was that I remembered much less Spanish than I thought I did. As it had been over five years since I had taken a Spanish course I guess I really shouldn't have been surprised right? Who can really expect to remember much from a high school course that was mediocre at best? As I tried desperately to order a simple sandwich and something to drink, I realized that if I didn't at least attempt to learn Spanish I would most likely starve after a week or so. How exactly does one go about learning Spanish in a Latin American country? Seems pretty easy right? Well I assure you it is not, especially when your entire day is spent speaking English.
  • Learn Spanish Fast - How fast is it possible to learn a foreign language? You see products that claim to teach you to speak in weeks or even days. I am trying to learn Spanish fast, but as with any other language it is a long and tiring process that take months and even years to become proficient. It is possible to learn some Spanish very fast, but you will find that will mostly be swear words and slang terms that wont really get you anywhere when it comes to actual conversation.
  • Public Speaking - The Key Is In The Body Language. The 8 Stages To A Successful Presentation - Most people have a fear of speaking to a large group. This is a totally normal apprehension. People may visualise the audience laughing at them, or shouting out. This is an extremely rare occurrence, unless you are a politician. Most people listening to you are aware of the pressures you are under and would never change places with you. These guidelines will help you to overcome your fears. 1. Know your subject. Read through your presentation beforehand.
  • Jews and Christians are redeemed in the Quran - The Quran states the following: "wa alladhina yu'minuuna bima unzila ilayka, wama unzila min qablika, wa bi aakhirah hum yuqinun" Quran 2: 5. Muslim commentators render the following interpretations. Translated: 'and who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter' (Abdullah Yusuf Ali). This Quranic verse is addressed to those who: (a) believe in the Quran; (b) Believe in what was given to them before the Quran (i.e. the Old and New Testaments), (c) Believe in the Hereafter. Unfortunately, the commentator inserted, erroneously, two words that are absent from the Quran: 'time' and 'in their hearts'. By doing so, he changed the meaning of the Quranic verse. In Aramaic the verse reads the following: "w lz ymn bma nzl 'laik wbma nzl mn qblk wbhrut hm yqnun".
  • Purification That Sweetens Life's Experiences - Purification is not a word I invented. It has been in the dictionary for a long time. However, when I used it for first time many years ago to refer to a client's condition which he called "sickness," it did seem as if I had made a new discovery. This man suddenly had a different and more empowering perspective of what was happening. He was willing to be purified, yet seconds before he viewed his condition as sickness, vacillating between resisting it and trying to mask it.
  • How To Improve Speaking Skills In A New Language - To most people, speaking is the most difficult part when learning a foreign language. Although everyone knows that the best way to speak a language fluently is to practice speaking as much as possible, not many people can do this. Language centers often create courses focusing on speaking skills, but besides the help of these courses, you should make some effort to improve your skills on your own. Learners often hesitate to speak because they are afraid of pronouncing the words wrongly. In fact it is very difficult to correct a mistake in pronunciation later if you don't pay attention to it from the start. The advice is that you should try to pronounce the words right from the very first lessons. Be patient when pronouncing new words.
  • Dictionary.com - Dictionary.com is a free website that offers a wide range of features. Obviously, the main service is to give definitions to words you look up.
  • Be Thankful For Grammar - I never thought I'd say this, but I'm thankful for grammar. You heard me right. I'm thankful for grammar. I guess maybe I should say that I'm thankful that I learned grammar. It's really true. As an author, I learned quickly to be grateful for those years of elementary school, junior high, and high school grammar class. Do you remember sitting through those dreadful grammar classes? I sure do. I remember being asked to memorize the function of a noun, pronoun, verb, adverb and adjective. And I remember learning the difference between the subject of the sentence and the predicate of that same sentence. I have no real memory of how the concepts of grammar made it off the pages and from the teachers' mouths into my head, but they did.

  • Why Should People Learn Spanish? - I remember the first time I visited Mexico. It is a beautiful country. I was young so naturally, I went with my parents. None of us could speak more than a few words of Spanish. We had a vague idea of how the Mexican currency worked, but we were clueless when it came to how much to pay people at restaurants and the shops. Let's just say it was an interesting experience (and I'm sure we were overcharged a number of times). Oftentimes, it's when you have to go without it that you realize how important communication really is.

  • Your Children Know More Latin Than You - The beautiful language of Latin has been undergoing an incredible revival of interest lately. Why has this formerly moldy language acquired a new luster? What constitutes a "revival of interest"? Last year 148,000 students applied to take the National Latin Exam, according to their website (www.nle.org).

  • The Art Of Listening - Everyone has a story to tell. However, not everyone may be willing to listen. Sometimes, we are amazed - in an unpleasant way - over the fact that we have not been paying attention to the one speaking to us. At some point along the story, our mind has wandered off, and we only drift back to reality when suddenly asked, "Are you still listening?
